Pick the Podium: F-1 - British Grand Prix, Silverstone, England, 2016

The F-1 folks are in Silverstone, England this week with Lewis Hamilton rattling the team cage and turning up his championship wick to the point that Rosberg is faltering and whining like a little girl because of it. We will see if the Mercedes can be invaded by Ferrari or even Verstappen as he drove a pretty good race last week to break onto the podium.

Hamilton holds serve while Rosberg has engine troubles. In Rosberg's absence, Ricciardo and Verstappen are in the top three similar to last race. WE shall see if Verstappen can make it stick.

Rosberg has recovered from his engine woes enough to claim second in qualifying. Hamilton takes the pole. Verstappen is third. With all of the past incidents between Hamilton and Rosberg, this could be shaping up to be another first-lap accident these two had before. Maybe and an easy win for Verstappen.

As long as he follows Hamilton and doesn't try to pinch Rosberg off, I think he'll be fine.

I kept thinking "Max doesn't have enough to catch him. Dammit." Then when they were talking to Nico I just kept thinking "say something stupid, say something stupid".

Whew.

Plus, you have to imagine he's gonna get a 5 spot penalty at Hungary because he's gonna change a gearbox. Lewis will get the championship. And now I am starting to wonder if Nico holds it together enough to keep second in the championship away from Kimi. How awesome would that be?

Sorry, I had to work tonight, & I figured that there was going to be a penalty coming Rosberg's way, but it didn't get printed on line until after I was on the job.

Here's how we did:

forty_three: 10 points - got all three steps of the podium correct.
Retroram52 & IndyAndy: 7 points - picked Winner; got the other two out of order.
Hank Kingsley: 6 points - picked winner; got Rosberg out of position

Season Totals so far

forty_three: 50 points
Retroram52: 47 points
IndyAndy: 47 points
Hank Kingsley: 41 points

You speak on the radio out of class and you get a 10 second penalty.

If you are fast enough you can accommodate that.....
