Pick 53 - Su'a Cravens

With Cravens this would mean the Riley and Foster will be out in passing situations. That is a good thing. The most logical choice was Billings for NT but I understand why they went here. He is a safety. SS.

So we went into this draft with one of the worst D-lines in the NFL, and we are apparently going to come out of this draft with a #3 WR, a backup OLB.... AND???

Understand SM is looking at this from several years out and building a team long-term. He may feel Cravens can be a star but Billings may just be very good.

Dude, IM all for building through the draft. But lets be real... when you have no D-line, and you draft a WR and a situational OLB with your first two picks..... You have to at least begin to question.. what are we trying to build.

You are acting like Dean. These DL are all overrated as evidenced by 31 teams continually passing on them.

Didnt want Billings, if we never draft another Baylor player Im good with that. IN a bubble, I was good with the Doctson pick. But as i have said, we walking into this draft with a bottom five D-line. And we are going to walk out with a bottom five D-line.

I like this pick. I don't know if it was the article Cali posted or something else I read but I was intrigued. A guy that can play safety and ILB on passing downs. Good pick and a today's football type of player.

That is exactly what I said. He will sub in for Foster and Riley on passing downs. We are building the pass defense with Norman and now Cravens. I like this pick. You can not depend on Foster or Riley to cover on 3rd downs. This picks makes sense.

You have to wonder what is going to happen with the line at this point. This is the danger of building only through the draft, you will always have holes until you plug them with free agents. I want to build through the draft but you cannot neglect free agency like most people on here wanted. Its not SM fault that there was a run on D Linemen. Thats the thing with the draft....you have little to no control of what is going to happen. Its more of a crap shoot than free agency in my opinion. Hopefully we address RB, Center and DL sooner than later. We still have no true FS on the team which is strange.

Heard earlier that the team has already told Will Blackmon that he's going to play safety, starting now, through OTA's, throughout camp and into the season. Hope it works out!!

Plus he is a team captain. A high character guy. He could win the SS job. This guy is a 3 down player. Good tackler and can cover the TE and RB. Solid player.

I think BIllings IS over rated. ONce again, we needed D-line. And I figured we would miss out on all the true starters the moment we drafted Doctson.
