Wasn't that a 3rd down play? Do they get a 4th down? Is there a reason you believe they wouldn't have got in on 4th?

Also, how do you give the Seahawks a pass on a game of inches? Shouldn't they have been smarter with their timeouts?

I believe that fan was saying had they marked Kaepernick down where he actually stopped the 49'ers kick their FB with 3 mins left on the clock and give Seattle a lot of time to come down and answer. I told him last night on the Seahawks board that this missed location wasn't a big deal in the bigger scope of the game. Too many other things could have still given that game to SF either way.

You can't control what the refs do. All you can do is play your game and execute and at the end of that game Seattle can only look at themselves for that loss. It wasn't on the refs or their calls or placements and it wasn't on being out played. They didn't execute on a few key plays and committed way too many self inflicted wounds with stupid penalties. I doubt any Seattle fan gives two shits about where that placement should have been. They didn't play good enough to win and got what they deserved.

More yards
More 1st downs by quite a bit
More time of possession by quite a bit

I think outplayed is a fair assessment.

The Hawks had more yards and a greater TOP until the 51 yd Gore
run late, late, late in the 4th qtr. Let's not forget the 17-16 lead.

So, a team makes 1 play late in the 4th qtr, which leads to more
yds (54), TOP and a 2 point win and you call it "outplayed"? :laugh3:

:bullshit:You do know that this was a 3rd down play, so Seattle wouldn't have AUTOMATICALLY received the ball. And like most people stated, the blame should be on Carroll for not saving a TO to challenge. There were missed calls for both sides.

:wtf2: Yes, it's now 4th down with the stop and Harbaugh never goes for it and why would he when

he just needs a FG to take the lead. Right? So Harbaugh kicks the FG. Then he kicks off to the Hawks and RWill has 3 minutes and 4 down territory to move down the field. That is plenty of time. Watch the Hawks / Bears game or Hawks / Falcons game last year? RWill has "it".

So now the poor spot leaves the Hawks with :30 seconds (after getting a new set of downs) instead of 3 minutes on the clock after the 9er FG.

This reply is to question your football intelligence because it's pretty obvious that yes, the Hawks would have AUTOMATICALLY received the ball (Harbaugh kicks the fg to take the lead with 3 minutes left) It doesn't excuse the coaches for not having time outs but really 49er?

C'mon, man!

Who's looking for sympathy? I don't care and hope Hawk fans don't either. There are bad calls all day in the NFL and you have to overcome the refs. I think we all agree that the NFL officials really stink, but they stink for all teams and the law of averages evens out the calls over a full 16 game season.

That's why it's foolish and a waste of energy to complain and get overly worked up about
bad calls.

I hope you aren't too big of a sports fanatic because the Mets, Jets and Knicks are a
serious lousy trio. :L

Right. The Gore run doesn't count because .. um.. why again ? I guess the 80 yard game winning drive doesn't count either. They gained more yards on that drive than the Hawks did the entire 2nd half and probably could have scored a TD if they'd wanted to and didn't shut it down to burn clock or if Carroll had been bright enough to let them. Maybe someone forgot to remind the Hawks that the games are 60 minutes. Carroll sure as hell had no idea what the clock was for. But yeah that generally they way it works. The team that scores the most points and has the edge in virtually every statistical category is usually considered to have out-played their opponent. What color is the sky in your world ?

I agree to a point. Bad or missed calls happen every game. However its normally not often that one particular bad or missed call directly affects the outcome of a game.

Nobody said it didn't count but 1 play late in the 4th qtr = got beat but let's be real, that is not
considered "outplayed". You tried to pull out the garbage stat card to corroborate your view and frankly, it was :lame:. Outplayed is when you control the game and get outplayed. 9er's never controlled the contest. They won the contest and while it may be spitting hairs, keep it real.

You're probably one of the fans that runs around quoting Top 5 defense when it pertains to yards, huh? (based on your comment, I know the answer).

It's about points allowed, not yards. It's a pet peeve listening to yard quotes. We got beat by 2 points. Give the 9er's credit and Gore for the blast. They won, no excuses.

But your reasoning and reply were garbage, bro. :L

Yesterday, there were a good 3 questionable / bad calls late in the game that directly effected the outcomes.

It is what it is. Chit happens and I've come to the conclusion that the refs this year aren't much better than the trash replacement refs we had early last year.

I hope Rodgers comes back healthy. I think he's the best QB in the NFL. :suds:

Your excuses are what's garbage, bro. :lame:Nobody has said that the Niners dominated the Hawks. It was a close game. But when it came time to win the game the Niners did and the Hawks couldn't stop them. They beat em on the scoreboard and they beat em on the stat sheet. Outplayed is outplayed. If you want to pretend "outplayed" = "dominated" to satisfy your silly point I hope it makes you feel better. But it doesn't and nobody has made that claim. Outplayed simply means that one team played better than the other in a game and the Niners did yesterday by every measure.

Can't really tell that his knee is completely down as it is slightly grainy of a picture. It does make it appear that it is possibly down but the officials have the capability to zoom in to the knee to see exactly where it is.

Is this better? I would say yes, his knee was down.

Hyperbole much? I never made excuses. I said the 9ers won with no excuses. :L

Who said "outplayed" = "dominated" ? I never brought that up.. :L

By your measures then, 95% of winning teams "outplayed" the other team.
Who outplayed whom in the Miami/Pitt game?
Who outplayed whom in the Jets/ Raiders game?
Who outplayed whom in the Ravens/Vikes game?
Who outplayed whom in the Pats/Browns game?

You'd be contradicting yourself if you tried to answer those 4 questions.

I go by the "eye test" first in all football measurables and corroborate with stats. I don't
play fantasy football and it seems all the kids use stats as a panacea for all.

The Hawks lost after being slightly ahead ( in stats and the score) after 56 minutes, 56 minutes of a slight advantage. Yes, we lost with that Gore run, no excuses, but with my "eye test", winning 4 minutes of a 60 minute contest isn't "outplayed" in my book. We got beat, whatever.

Who gives a fuck, really? Maybe we can discuss something w/ more relevance later.
