to the Cardinals for a 5th rounder.

Murray gets another toy to play with in his offense.

Ertz isn't the same player he was a few years ago but he can still play.

Makes sense. Wouldnt be shocked to see one or two more veterans peeled off the Eagles at this point

Eagles are all in on next years draft. This is an obvious tanking move. They are looking to get 3 picks in the top 10 (their own, dolphins and Colts).

Yeah, I think he knew he was being dealt and this was his last game. They also made him a captain before kickoff.

He did get a TD as well so nice sending off

Ertz is a class guy, he is probably past his prime but still a good pass-catching TE. I hope he wins another ring. His wife, soccer star Julie Ertz, is from Arizona, and I think they live there, so this is a great fit for him all around.

The return is about what I expected. Nothing great, but seems fair.

I believe that's where she is from. However, I think she plays in Chicago now

Yeah, that's correct. I think they live there in their off-seasons though. It was reported all along that he was hoping to be traded to Arizona or another west coast team. He is from California.

Interesting tidbit on Zach Ertz: He was discovered by Brent Jones, the former Niners TE. Jones saw him practicing in high school and said, this guy could be an NFL TE. Ertz at the time had just started playing football. He had been a basketball player. Jones started working with him and helped him get recruited by Stanford. He later tried to get Kraft of the Patriots to draft him, and teased him jokingly after the Super Bowl. I am not sure how he knows Kraft.

Cardinals acquired TE Zach Ertz from the Eagles in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Cardinals acquired the veteran tight end "with the idea of making him a regular featured part of its offense and Ertz has told others in the past the Arizona appealed to him." This ends an excruciatingly awkward months-long dalliance between the Eagles and several teams interested in Ertz, 30. The move should be a boon for fantasy managers who drafted Dallas Goedert and those who have since rostered Ertz, who had a touchdown on four receptions Thursday night against Tampa with Goedert (COVID-19) sidelined. The Kliff Kingsbury-era Cardinals haven't typically used the tight end in its passing game, though Maxx Williams drew 16 targets from Kyler Murray between Week 2 and Week 4 this season. Williams suffered a season-ending knee injury last week against the 49ers -- an injury that likely led to Arizona's acquisition of Ertz. Ertz's first game as a Cardinal will likely be Week 7 against the Texans, one of the best tight end matchups in the NFL this year. Goedert, meanwhile, will probably see an increase in pass routes and targets in an Eagles offense continually forced into pass-heavy game scripts. In five games with Ertz sidelined over the past three years, Goedert has averaged 6.6 targets, 4.2 catches, 53 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns. He'll be less touchdown dependent with Ertz out of the picture.

Good move. After Max Williams broke his leg last Sunday, I knew they would make a move. They also picked up Richard Rodgers off waivers. Trying to add some depth at TE as it is an essential position for the Cards offense. Love this move!!!
