Funny how Philly teams always get these really old "rookies." The Phillies had Chris Coste, who was a 30-year-old rookie catcher, and the Flyers had Roman Cechmanek.
Regardless, I love Hextall. I remember when I was a kid, I was at my grandmothers watching a game where the Flyers were playing the Rangers, and Lindros had a penalty shot against Richter. Hextall skates out to Lindros before he takes the shot and tells him to go high, glove-side, because he thought that was Richter's weak spot. Lindros skates up the ice and without a single deke goes low, five-hole. I was cracking up at that. Good old Hextall.
Well they couldn't get a goalie to stay in Philly since he left. May as well bring him back in to start in net again. What are they gonna say now? "Well, Hextall is no Hextall?"
