We have quite a few pitchers with ERA's above 3.5. This is not good in the giving up runs department. At least Giles is consistently under 2.00.

I'm judging his progress over the season which shows a slow start then improvement as he made adjustments. I think it's tough to be consistent when you're playing half the time. I've watched his progress. 6 homers in August playing half the games tells me something. Plus he hits both LHP and RHP. When he takes over next year with 120 or more games, we could see a 30 homer guy. Yeah, Luzinski and McCann are good hopeful comparisons. 260-pound Rupp can bash a ball just like them. This is not like I'm getting excited about the new guys in double A; we're talking about hitting at the ML level.
I'd love to see it. The so-called experts never projected Rupp with high ceiling. You know Rupp's August will not go unnoticed. Teams will find holes in his swing and it'll be up to Rupp to make changes.

There was a broadcast recently where the announcers were discussing that very issue, Westcoast. The announcers stated that Rupp has been working with hitting coaches to get his swing precise with power. If this happens as you suggest, I believe he'll go back to the batting cage with those same coaches and make the necessary changes. This guy is going be a good one I believe.

That's how it always works. The good ones adjust; the bad ones disappear. Let's see how it works out.
