Crawford 1-1 with 4 walks, 2 SB tonight. They need to stop acting like we're the fucking Royals or some other low budget team and bring the kid up

Agreed. I'd also promote Andrew Knapp, afterall the guy has done nothing but hit at every level. When Alfaro gets off the he DL, promote him to AAA.

Another football score game. Except for one win against the Nats, we'd have four ass-whoopin's in a row. What a rebuild this is!

We could use one more stud pitching prospect from the #1 pick in this years draft. Looks like it could be LHP Jason Groome.

IMO, there is NO way i would take a high school pitcher number 1 overall. Has it ever worked out?

Groome is only 16, 6’6 and 220 lbs, and can throw at 97 mph. Top pitching selections include FL College junior A.J. Puk and OK junior Alec Kansen. I haven't heard of any prodigious college outfielder HR studs out there.

I agree. If you're going starting pitcher with the number one pick I'd rather have a guy from one of the big SEC schools like Nola that they can possibly use next year. The Phillies are a bad team right now, but this NL East doesn't look that impressive over the next few years to me. I think the Phillies could be competitive next year if Crawford and maybe Nick Williams and one of the catchers is ready for the majors.

16? wow,he's a few years away from the majors. I don't know if I have that kind of time

Yeah, I see he is projected in all the mock drafts to be chosen number 1 by the Phillies, but I don't know if I would want them to go that way. I'm trying to remember the last starting pitcher that was drafted by the Phillies and went through their system and became a good major leaguer. Hamels? Vance Worley? They have some good arms now, but they all came through trades.

Well the Phils are poised to make a run in 2018 between the large free agent that year and if some of our minor league prospects pan out.

The earliest we would see this prospect if he makes it at all would be what 2019 or 2020. The phillies might just need that youth injection again by that point.

You said it before, Aaron Nola. Also Hamels... Cole Hamels - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah, I meant to say HS. But if they can draft a high school guy similar to Cole Hamels I can't argue with that. I think he only took about 3 years to get to the big leagues and he has had a great career.

But right now I'd rather lean towards a college guy.

As far as hitters there is a guy named Kyle Lewis that is supposedly a very good outfield prospect. He is a junior in college, but it is Mercer College, not a major conference school.

Yeah, I guess Mack knew what he was doing batting Blanco third. Of course if he was really smart he'd have him leading off
