That AJ staredown on Locke was classic. Sucks he walked him. I wanted him to STFD him.
With regards to the starting pitching situation, I feel like 3-4-5 of the Pirates rotation is very solid. One or two of these guys could implode at any time, but I feel like Cumpton and Worley will be at least solid back of the rotation guys. With injuries, these guys are more than 3-4-5 and I don't know how long that can maintain.
Locke was great and didn't get a lot of close ones.
threw 72 or more fastballs and they were pounding them in the ground.
pitched inside a lot and was on fire.
just one pitch to byrd was fat.
sad he is the one with options left. almost wish liriano would have 3-4 rehab starts to show his is really on to replace the 5 we have going who are pitching well, except cole, who will hopefully pick it up once he is back in the groove.
hopefully this bodes well for next year when we have
cole, morton, locke, worley cumpton, sadler ......... then volquez if they bring him back .... then taillon, kingham mid year with glasnow as a sept possibility if needed.
who are the real free agent or trade options we would want to have for 2-3 years if we can make a real run next year.
