It was Jim Johnson, I believe Josh Johnson is hurt as usual in SD and good for Murph

Yep. Josh Johnson is slowly going the way of Brandon Webb, from dominant NL starter to forced retirement due to injuries.

I'm the one who chimes in where I'm not needed?! Pot meet kettle. That is literally your entire routine here. And if I cared about you reading my posts, I would stick to short mono-syllabic words in just one or two sentences so you could follow along.

You don't like me. Good for you. That just puts me in the company of many of the other knowledgeable and cool posters here who have put you on permanent ignore status. We'll all keep chatting baseball and you can go back to being a really miserable individual.

Here, try this Will. Go fuck yourself.

Even under ideal conditions teams don't know what they are dealing with till mid June or later. It's hardly being pessimistic to hit the brakes till the team is fully healthy. Not counting 2nd base and catcher we're talking about a pitcher with a stiff neck, another coming off two surgeries and a year lay off and still another who's been out over a year and had hip surgery. Those are ifs not probabilities. However, If things fall into place this could be a really good team and not because everyone else is sucking.....which is a hell of a way to look at it.

Yu might be activated in the next 7 days. He threw yesterday and felt fine. Colby might be ready as well. He just needed to up his stamina.

I know this is off subject but did any of you all think the picture quality of the game on Fox was much better than in the past? My son even walked in from his college class and said something about it.

They had fancier graphics, but I usually have great quality with DirectTV.

We have definitely even given the short stick for now.

I have Verizon FIOS but it just seemed even better of the game itself for some reason.

Disagree. How many other pitchers have been put into that situation over a decent period of time? One. There is a reason for it.

We will never know but if the options were MP and TS and Tanner pitched better in ST then I will give him the ball because I believe Martin would have had the same issue w nerves and I am not sure the results would have been completely different. Hopefully Perez realizes he needs to have better results to get the ball on OD and its a wake up call, best I can hope for after today.

A damn shame the guy had loads of potential

Had Perez gone out there today and gotten bombed like Scheppers did, half of you complaining about Scheppers now would've been complaining about Perez getting the start when Scheppers had the better spring

Once we get all 7 or 8 of our injured players back you dont think this will be a better team? You said we looked like a 3rd or 4th place team. We put together a battered line up and even put moreland in there. We had a pitcher out there whose never started in the bigs. We put up 8 runs on cliff freakin lee. This team will be in contention for first at the end of the season and I have a hard time believing otherwise

I said RIGHT NOW we look like a 3rd or 4th place team. Had you told me we would put up 8 runs on Lee I would have taken it in a heart beat. Unfortunately, they scored 14. Not sure what point you're trying to make with the injury comments since I've already said they have potential to be a good team once they get well.

Tanner looked so lost out there today. I guess he will get another start. Just hope he finds himself and the strike zone next time out.

You are so right on that one. My bad.

Wasn't a call out, just trying to help. I saw the J Johnson on the box score for the A's and did a double-take myself

I will just say it will be hard not to improve on his results as a starter, the next time out

Technically Ross had the better spring before his BP stint against the Astros. But even before the game started I wanted someone, anyone, who had started a major league game to start. I would have taken 3-4 innings from Colby. But that was not going to happen. And Perez did have a big start last year. If Perez had started and got kicked then I would have lived with it. He did a great job last year but is still learning.

Isn't there a possibility of Harrison being back by May 1st?

 for sure plus it should be a little less emotional.

Point is we had basically 0 depth to begin the year w the injury situation and our options for SP with ML starting experience was slim to none. Perez, Ogando and Saunders were basically it and all had a poor Spring. It wasn't likely Scheppers would set the world on fire but I don't see the results much different with any other option and really feel the same going forward the next couple weeks until we get guys back pitching in their usual spots and moving the other guys back to their normal spots in the BP
