It is the second period. It is not after an icing or anything where you NEED to keep the same line on the ice which never happens on a PK.
If it was late in the game and you are gassed and want to hold a one goal lead, I would understand, but a penalty kill in the second period?
It all comes down to it is my opinion that it is a waste of a timeout so I will not justify it any further.

No I know that. I agree that they shouldn't have taken the time out. I'm just saying it helped in this case. Problem is that they wasted it and in a close game it could come back to bite them in the ass. Relax good Lord.
