So I guess that bad leg was not the factor they claimed it was? Cause I am not reading anything about that issue in the article. Unless I skimmed by it and did not see it.

I can live with criticism of Manning. After all, I survived the McDaniels era. Doesn't mean that both don't piss me off, however!

This team may very well be a defense oriented team. Meaning, it is not going to be a high flying offense that we have all come to expect for some time now.

This is how the Ravens have been for the better part of a decade now. I am not saying the offense will be that bad. It will be balanced.

That is the way I see it anyway.

Let me put it this way. Remember the days of the orange crush before Elway? Not quite that bad of an offense, but something similar in the way we should be thinking about this team.

I fully expect a very different team than the team fielded the past three years, and I think our greatest chance of winning a SB lies in having an outstanding defense. Definitely think that we have a shot at that too.

It was mentioned in the article that I read. Essentially Manning called it a thigh cramp that just would never go away. I'm pretty sure what that sounds like to me is he got dehydrated, tried to play through the cramp and injured it more making the pain last the rest of the season. They should have pulled him at half time of that game against the Chargers and let him get fully rehydrated and healed up. Instead the coaches let Manning try to play through it and it only made things worse. This is where Manning can sometimes be his worst enemy and how the coaches really failed last year. They didn't have the balls to stand up to Manning and tell him he was sitting for a bit. Thankfully it seems like we have a coaching staff now that in a similar situation Manning is on the bench.

This may be true after Manning, but I wouldn't expect the pendulum to swing as far as you suggest with Peyton still at the helm. Rest assured this offense will likely keep most of its bite.

All people have to do is look at the Ravens last year and see that while Kubiak is a big run guy it is more he knows when to run and how to run than it is about quantity. Too many people get wrapped up in the idea that Kubiak coming to town means this team is going to just run it like it is going out of style. Well just this past year Manning had 597 attempts. Flacco had 554. So that means they only had on average 3 passes per game difference. I honestly see Manning's attempts staying pretty close to what he has been throwing. What I do see is our yards per carry going up dramatically. Baltimore went from worst in the league in 2013 with a 3.1 yards per carry average to a 4.5 yards per carry average. Those yards can quickly add up. Really if nothing else what this new offense should help with is eliminating all the negative plays. Last year I think somebody posted a stat that showed that our RB's were being hit before the LOS on something like a 1/3rd of our carries. That is about as bad as it gets in the NFL. That stat should be much improved this year.
