caught up on the latest episode this week.

the mother of the church girl is fucking nuts. Trades her daughter for help on the road? And then the whole thing with the baby coming back? Insane.

I think Matthew Rhys is doing a great job. He's starting to "get" how hard it is to be a lawyer and how his fuck ups in the past probably didn't help when a lawyer is relying on him to do his job and he failed.

I feel for the black cop. He dresses really fucking nice though.

I thought it was more commentary on arranged marriages.

The great depression hit the common people pretty hard. My dad's mom had to marry a much older farmer just to make it. A lot of characters in Perry Mason are kinda fighting against what would normally happen to people who have their disadvantages. The reality is that the church girl wouldn't have been special and the black cop (who is one of the best characters imo) wouldn't be a cop in 1936. Even Perry Mason being divorced is somewhat taboo.

If this was realistic, everyone would have more kids.

not going to post anything since I am guessing most haven't watched it yet. Glad they are having a second season and all that

I feel like the logical point to end the episode is when the blonde walked into the office and said she had a problem and money.

It's OK. Fast forward whenever Tatiana Maslany or the church is on screen and the show would be much much better. It's not Tatiana's fault.

Agree. This was a really odd decision by Tatianna To take this part. The costume was NOT flattering for her at all and the whole arc didn’t really seem to be part of the story until the last 20 mins or so of the last episode.

she is a very attractive (not a Hollywood 10, but still very attractive) actress with mad skills. She really needs to get some more meaty roles that she can establish herself with. After this one, she should fire her agent. Just a bad decision for her.
