Agreed on L.O.B.

Coach Carroll is a defensive coach.

I wonder to what degree the off field relationship those dudes have formed might factor in to Sherman's reasonability contractually? That is a good question...

Of course I would like to think that it will matter, but this dude is a genius and seems playin' good poker.

I think the idea of taking less so that the team could sign the other guys it needs to sign would have to come from Sherman's side. I only say that because he already feels disrespected in general because of how low he was drafted and we all saw how he reacted this off-season when he felt like he was being disrespected by the media or other players. If the Hawks low-ball him because they're trying to sign everybody they can, and he feels slighted by it, it could be "bye bye Sherman". I hope it doesn't happen that way, but I can certainly see it happening.

I'm sure the Seahawks want to keep the Legion of Boom together. The one question mark is Sherman, because I don't see the Seahawks over paying any body, not even Sherman. If they can sign him to a fair contract they will, but if he's looking for some record making deal they'll pass, even if they cut Rice before hand IMO.

Don't be disappointed Harold when Paul backs up the brink for Sherman. The guy has been playing CB for 3 yrs in his life and is the best man to man corner in the game. He's going to be paid in the top 3 CB's which by 2015 is going to be exorbitant and why it's imperative PC/JS continue to find inexpensive DL, WR, TE and RB's like Christine Michael.

I hope they sign Sherman to a deal at this time next year prior to his free agency period, so if needed, they can franchise ET, which is a cheaper franchise while they work on his deal.

RWill is the guy that will go under market. Market for his skill set will be $20mm plus and I see him taking the $12 - $15mm to keep a team together. I think Harvin's deal is what amounts to a 3 year deal because in 2016, because Okung and RWill will get paid.

Here's a list with salaries for the 2012 CB signees. It's outrageous based on performance... sherman is going to make a mint.

2012's Biggest CB Contracts
1. Lardarius Webb, Baltimore Ravens - six years, $50 million ($8.34 million per season, $10 million signing bonus, $23 million guaranteed)
2. Brandon Carr, Dallas Cowboys - five years, $50.1 million ($10.02 million per season, $10 million signing bonus, $25.5 million guaranteed)
3. Cortland Finnegan, St. Louis Rams - five years, $50 million ($10 million per season, $5 million signing bonus, $27 million guaranteed)
4. Carlos Rogers, San Francisco 49ers - four years, $29.3 million ($7.33 million per season, $5 million signing bonus, $14.5 million guaranteed)

Those guys can't carry Sherm's jock. In today's market, RSherm would be getting 5 yrs / $60mm with $30mm+ guaranteed, easily, and probably more.

No way Sherm gets away. That would be worse than transitioning Hutch and PC/JS are obviously in a different league than Dumbskull.

Cutting Rice and Miller NEXT season is what will probably happen.
That's a lot money money between those two. This year is settled, they will both be here THIS season.

Go Hawks.

Rice is definite. Miller's contract was well done by Miller's agent. Zach makes $9.8mm this year. :omg:

Heads south to $5.8mm in 2014 and 2015 is when we'll need the cap space. I can see Zach through
2014, then cut to sign Sherman and ET prior to 2015.

The core of the Hawks for the next 7 years are:

RWilson - Obvious
ROkung - Blindside protector and power run game
MUnger - OL line calls and very good player

Earl Thomas- Too valuable as a ballHAWK CF
Bam - Enforcer who is signed for another 5 yrs.
RSherman - You don't let premier cover corners entering their prime walk in a pass
happy league.
Wags - Need the Mike, D play caller who has big upside.

Those are the guys - Honorable mention that may get moved up is KJ. I expect
a monster year but OLB's in a 4-3 aren't as valuable as the
the MIKE and we'll need to find a LEO as core which will make it 8 guys.

Tough to say without knowing all the details of his rehab. These injuries just aren't what they used to be.

Latest on the Clemon's rehab:
"We note Clemons because he seems to be recovering fairly well from the ACL injury he suffered in the wild card round against Washington six months ago and, while the Seahawks will take things deliberately with his rehab, there is a chance he could be ready for camp and to start the season. For now, at least, the Seahawks are considering the PUP list as only a remote possibility. Clemons has never missed a regular-season start in his three seasons with the Seahawks, after the team acquired him from Philadelphia in one of the best under-the-radar heists in recent history. Clemons had started only three games in his career before moving to Seattle and, despite being regarded as a pass-rush specialist, had only 20 sacks in six seasons. But he’s found a home in Seattle, and in opponents’ backfields, the past three years. The team has bolstered its rush this offseason with the additions of ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett, and, if Clemons is healthy, that should give him some help off the edge."

As far as the Seahawks backing up a brinks truck to sign Sherman. If that what they feel is best then I support it. I've been dead wrong all off season about what they would do and I'm not upset in the least.

I was going to use the quote button, but I keep getting this message basically saying my post is to short and it didn't matter how long my post was.
