Admit it marge.

No Crosby or Letang for the Pens. No MIchalek, Gonchar and Kuba for the Sens.

Both teams going with their backups.

Have a good one Pens fans!!

Yuck. Staal and Z. Michalek also out for the Pens.

Johnny looking sharp early, at least.

Indeed. His positioning looks really good. Even when he hasn't seen it, the puck hits him.

Kind of an unlucky penalty there for the Pens.

Johnny's been shaky this season so it's promising.

Have to say, not that I watch this team solely for the stars or that I would ever stop watching, but it's disheartening to ice half a squad. I'm sure you feel the same.

Then I think back to 2003 and I am grateful.

I just enjoy watching a team that hustles and the Sens have that this year.

From a Pens perspective I'd be happy to never see Letang play again. :flame:

I do miss seeing Crosby play but by far my favorite Pen to watch is Malkin.

At least with all this ice time, IF ever the team fields it's A team, the depth will be very experienced for years and it probably makes Shero's job of assessing what long term needs the team has.

Malkin was possessed last game.

Edit: And you're right about hard work really being the reward watching these guys.

True. I already think Depres is better than Lovejoy.

Despres is a keeper, IMO.

Maybe never a star (might still be one too), but he'll be a solid player.

I've admired his game going back the WJHC.

If you don't feel like it Kenny, don't worry about it, but I was wondering if you could tell me about the Sens the last ten games. I could read articles, but I like to get the "pulse" of the team from dedicated fans. I've been "betting" lately (read: picking games for my coworker; he's up $900 in two weeks on my picks) and was just curious. I don't watch them often.

The leading minutes-played guys in the last 10 games on the blueline (by far too) are Karlsson, age 21, and Cowen, age 20. I'm super stoked about these guys. They represent what this team is about. Youth.

So much inconsistency comes with that kind of young team. They look fantastic one night and kind of meh the other nights. This would be a tough team to bet on (or against).

The one thing that might make them a decent pick as we move along is that they're .500 and haven't had any decent goaltending yet. Odds are Anderson will improve somewhat.

Thanks. I've actually won twice with them already - once betting on them against the Sabres, once on them losing to the Bruins (not exactly a shocking pick). I am glad you are enjoying the youth on the team.

That was a pretty up and down period with the Sens coming out better and the Pens coming on later.

As I type, Sens score.

OK.

You see what I mean about Jeckyll and Hyde type shit, Loki?

Terrible pinch by Rundblad followed by great offensive instincts by Karlsson.

Turning ugly for the Pens and Johnny...they've shown resilience this season. We'll see. Lots of time.
