I just got NHL 16, Sid to Kessel is unbelievable! Unless Sid gets hurt, he's pretty much a lock to lead the league in assists this season.

FYI,

Crosby 2 Kessel is going to be so sick this season. I'm playing NHL 16 and I setup Crosby to Kessel all the time

Results...

Crsoby 2 Kessel = GOAL!

Crosby to Kesseil = rebound back to Crosby = GOAL!

This is going to be a fun season

Pens and Lightning at Johnstown for Kraft's Hockeyville game last night was a great game. Malkin's line torched TB and Matt Murray got the win allowing only two goals. Murray looked real good last night, too. Pierre and Doc were talking him up during the game.

And, of course Milbury rips the Pens during the broadcast about Sid not playing last night. Why the drama? Who really cares?

Milbury is a jackass, and so is Bob Costas.

They are really giving up a ton of goals on some nights. The defense hasn't been ok, and the goaltending awful from what I've seen.

The forward group looks very deep, even at the AHL level. The defense not so much, but there is some talent obviously. They don't have the luxury, or cap space, not to lean on Maata, Letang, Cole, and Pouliot. If those guys aren't up to the task, they are going to have problems.

Thinking Sprong might be worth a 9 game look. Plotnikov is definitely an NHL talent, not sure if he is top 6 though, I don't know if he has the hands, but is willing to go to the net, and is a heavy hitter. He seems like a natural fit on Malkin's wing.

We lost Brandon Sutter & Paul Martin so our defense will be shaky no doubt. Hopefully we could score goals this year or else it'll be worse than last year.

I think it was proven that Sutter on the ice doesn't improve the defense...It was some sort of optical delusion

At 5on5 that is true. His advanced stats proved it. However, and this is a big one, Sutter was excellent on the penalty kill. I guarantee the Pens will see a significant decline this season after two seasons of at least top five finishes. Martin's absence will probably contribute to this, as well.

I am happy with the haul JR got for Sutter. Bonino and Clendening will both contribute to this team. But, I can't make it sound like Sutter was just some garbage 3rd line center, either. He's a talented hockey player in his own right.

I forgot how much Eric Fehr raped the Blackhawks (and us) in the Winter Classic.

BTW, get used to the name "Adam Clendenning", he was the best dman in the AHL the last 2 seasons, I expect him to be mega HUGE for us this season!

Clendenning, Farnham (unfortunately) and Sprong made the team, Pouliot to the AHL. Gonchar cut.

Pretty disappointing camp for Pouliot.

Seems like Malkin and Sid are going to be used on the pk, which I love. Both guys need to diversify their game, especially Malkin.

Will be interesting to see how the lines and pairs shake up. No matter what happens good players are going to be on the 4th line. So I'd love to see them really roll 4 lines where the 4th gets 10 minutes 5v5 each night.

Also, the potential for a Lovejoy-Scubs 3rd pairing is giving me nightmares.
