First off, Michalek is out 2-4 weeks. Orpik is day to day. Staal and Asham have begubn skating. Talbot and Crosby given the day off from practice. Talbot got hurt in the 2nd, but returned in the 3rd, and Sid is playing like he is hurt... I don't see the power in his legs like I normally do.. I thought that to myself last night, and then reading he got teh day off I'm pretty sure his hip flexor is acting up. Like Orpik, this will nag him the rest of the year, hopefully unlike Orpik, this won;t nag him the rest of his career, but it may.

Regarding the game, 4 goals on 12 shots is unacceptable, but only one I believe was Fleury's fault, I believe the 3rd goal, from the faceoff... he was way off his angle, his right leg was covering the post and some of the boards. Staying on his game, he still has horrible rebound control. The deflection and the 4h goal was the defense not marking their man close enough. The ice is horrible and it shows by the sloppy play from both teams. Like I said in preseason, Tangradi can not buy a goal... he's smart, knows where he needs to be, he doesn;t use his size like he could, and the guy can not score... I refer to it as the TK disease, right place right time, can not score. The Pens aer pressing way too much. Letang keeps trying to force plays as does Sid onthe Power play.... they just need to play a simple game... I totally disagree with Sid when he said the Pen power play is not a one time power play, with the shot of Malkin, Letang, Gogo, you're damn right they are a one time power play... set it up and let them rip. I really liked the effort the team put forth in the first two games, but not so much anymore.

This team just needs to play simple hockey and stop forcing what is not there.

This is prevelant especially on the PP, they need to create traffic in front of the net, pass a few times and set up easy shots. They're trying to be perfect and it's NOT working.

We need more passing. Tic-tac-toe is so 2009, goalies have it figured out. You need at least five consecutive passes, one of which must be behind the back, before attempting a shot. Receiving a cross-ice pass in the slot with the goalie going the wrong direction? Drop it to Gogo!
