3 yrs for 1.7 million... averaging $566,700 per. He's 28. This is a great deal. It may actually be one of the better deals made during 2011. This is only a $66,700 dollar raise from his current salary. Engelland, no question, is no better than 3rd pairing, perhaps on some teams a second pairing... but he's tough, relentless, and for the most part, mistake free... his fist alone earned him a spot and a raise. I put him around 850K-900K a yr. The Pens resigning him for $566,700 a yr... coupled with this signing bringing a total of 7 signed defenseman for next yr, quality defenseman... make this a great signing.
