Pens at Rags Third Period Thread

Because I couldn't find a GNT. So far more of the same...uggggg-llyyyy. Powerplay? Ugly. Offense in general? Ugly. STOP PASSING PRETTY AND SHOOT. Geno on a 2 on 1 forces a pass, it gets broken up. The only reason Sid shot that period was because of the breakaway.

Okay, so those two ARE shooting. BUT, in that period, they were also the guys passing up opportunity after opportunity. Letang playing pass the puck at the top of the zone on the PP was painful. Did you learn nothing from Sarge? Get that shot. Geno needs to become more Rooskie and be selfish just a bit.

Vokoun is keeping the Pens in it. The rest of the Pens are keeping the Rangers in it. Cant believe Cindy missed the net on the breakaway.

The breakaway was a darn good save by Hank, got enough to send it over the bar. That said, Sid buries that quite often. Frankly, he's been off in all but 2 games this year. And yeah, Tommy is rock solid right now.

No, not at all. I mean, there were games even after the lockout, but we're talking '08 at the LATEST. Not even close to that type of team any more.

Chris Kunitz had to have had terrible grades in chemistry and physics in high school. He's been terrible this year

Shutout city for Tomas Vokoun, first for the Pens on the season, his 49th, and first as a Penguin. Good stuff from him. Glad they at least capitalized on one PP. That quick goal sealed the game essentially...and the posts deflated the Rags.

Ugly game. Can't believe how stationary we are on the powerplay, it's truly incredible. Kunitz is an absolute mess right now...

On the bright side, Pens managed to hold a lead and shut the game down, though maybe the Rangers deserve a bit of credit there. Depres continuing to impress, although he's inconsistent.

Also, Pens just picked up Boychuk off waivers from Carolina, tryout on the top 6, perhaps? I think Jeffrey deserves to stick with Malkin / Neal for a while, so maybe send Kunitz to third line to find his physical game again?

Also, announcers on NHL network were the worst. Ever. Were they the regular Rangers guys?

Yea the Rags announcers are pretty bad....plus Cablevision has been known to fire announcers that have negative towards their teams (Marv f'n Albert!) so they gotta toe the line
