I didn't see tonight's game, I see Iggy recorded an assist on Malkin's goal, anybody want to fill me in on how he (Iggy) played tonight?

Pretty well. He and Geno are starting to develop some chemistry...it looks very, very promising. Geno/Kunitz set him up for a few good chances (he needs to shoot a *little* more, but in the postgame he even said he should've shot the one he over-passed on); the assist was on a shot for rebound for the GWG.

He made a nice play at the blue-line to steal the puck and slide it up to Malkin for what would be the game winner. Bylsma kept his ice time down, tonight. Only about 15 minutes. Probably not a bad idea considering what lays ahead. Iggy's been rock solid since he's been here, IMO. Never makes very many mistakes with the puck, and is hardly ever out of position.

...pretty sure it was a shot? Maybe?

Anyway, I agree. He's been solid, hasn't made mistakes, playing simple/smart hockey. However, the chemistry is developing. I think he's starting to *get* Geno...which isn't as easy as you'd think. It'd be nice if he'd get some more consistency w/ the other winger, but Neal/Kunitz will help.

Very happy they locked up the division tonight.. now it's time to get some guys healthy, and give some regulars (Orpik, Adams, Cooke) a game off before the fun begins.

IMO.. Iggy, Malkin and Kunitz(Neal) are all basically relying on their talent and intelligence right now... I do not see much chemistry, however they are by no means a liability on the ice... like I said, they are talented and smart so they can handle there own until things click for them. Iggy's still a straight line player, hard into corners... just a few break out and neutral zone hiccups...

Morrow's game, a little more simple than Iggy's... has translated better on the Pens 3rd line so far... he, Sutter and Cooke look good there.

Yep...getting healthy is all the game is now. I could care less about 1/2 seed. But man, the team isn't playing horribly right now (I'd give 'em a solid B+), and for the postseason will add PaulMart (oh dear God does Orpik need him), Letang, Crosby, and Neal. Those are four All-Stars. Just creates a great trickle down affect to the other lines.

Can we discuss how well Jokinen has fit in?! Man that's a savvy move.

Most of it I think has been Geno's rust. He's been pushing it a lot the past few games, but tonight that line looked dangerous...very dangerous. I wish we had a Kunitz clone, because he works so well on both Geno and Sid's line. I think Geno scoring tonight will help him immensely over the course of the rest of the year.

Yeah, Jokinen has been a perfect fit for this offense. They needed that face-off man who you can rely on to take crucial defensive-zone draws. He has and will pay dividends.

I liked the Jokinen addition right from the start. I've always liked his game.

So glad that Malkin got that goal. Boy did he need to get off the hook. Now hopefully the floodgates open
