We got lucky on that goal line play, plain and simple.......whether ye want to admit it or not, it was luck.

Now, I can't honestly say that won us the game, but it helped. I apologize to Penn State fans as I know you guys are passionate just like us. That is a hard way to lose.

I also must eat some crow beings that I said we would dominate the game. Penn State is the most well-coached team in the BIG.......surprisingly. Despite everything you guys face in the road ahead, feel good about your coaching staff.

That is all for now. Posting on thee phone is hard!

I wish everyone would quit drinking the Kool-Aid. Don't be negative like me, but at least be more realistic about the predictions. Thinking we play a penalty and turnover free game is ludicrous.

Yeah, they're a good team.

I feel good about the win. Huskers are in better position than they've been is a while.

I missed the game to do homework. What the hell happened with that call?

I saw the video and it looked 100% clear cut. Was there some technicality involved or was it just a ridiculously awful call?

It was not bad today. One offensive turnover, I don't think any PI's and the late hit was bullshit. Had a couple of false starts but not to bad.
I think Sirles was the only multiple offender.

As for Marlowe's drop he shouldn't of been in the game to start with. Coaching blunder.

called a fumble on the field (which i think at full speed it does look like a fumble) and they just said that the call stands...i'm guessing they didn't think they had irrefutable evidence.

It has to be conclusive to be overturned. Apparently they had a look that we didn't. I'm not 100 percent sure where the ball came lose.

I looked at it with an honest look --and they had the TD

the ball broke the plain before coming out of both of his hands

buuuut that is the way the ball bounces

Yeah, it was clearly across the start of the goal line, and actually probably made it past the end of the goal line before coming loose. It is what it is, but somebody better be suspended for that. This isn't the Pac 12.

I'm glad you guys won, though. An Indy rematch would be awesome, and it looks very likely now.

but, but, but

it was nowhere near as bad as the calls that went against us in tOSU game but still very suspect. I think it will be awhile before PSU gets some calls. Im almost used to it already.

PSU still had some chances though.

There were 9 minutes left. Yeah, PSU probably isn't passing out of their endzone after that, but we would have been much more aggressive after that as well. It's not as though we had a whole lot of problems moving the ball in the second half.

And I've never understood how a goal line replay can be definitive when the camera isn't on the goal line. That is where the ref is standing, Camera is at the 1.

None the less great game Penn St. Our best win of the year.

They are a very good team, and even if they had scored a TD, we still had plenty of time to march right down the field to score the winning points. We've seen enough of this the last few games to know that Nebraska's offense has enough confidence in situations like that to be able to pull out wins late in games.

+1

As many times as I watched that play, I honestly can't say for sure one way or the other. I suspect if the call on the field had been touchdown, that call would have been upheld on review. It looked close enough to me that whatever the ruling on the field was, that's what the reviewers would have to go with. And, as far as that play costing PSU the game, there's just no way to know for sure. There was still plenty of time, and the Huskers seemed to be having no trouble moving down the field. Anyway, I'm glad for the win, and a tip of the hat to PSU. You guys are having a hell of a season, good luck to you in your final games! And we'll see next year.

GBR!

I remember hearing the talking heads say that this camera was right on the goal line.

If the call was made on the last play of the game I would feel a little more compassion. However, there was plenty of time for PSU to do something on the field and make the whole incident moot.

I don't see the replay as conclusive enough to overturn the call on the field. The player initially had two hands on the ball, then only one hand before it potentially broke the plain. The question is did he have a grip (with one hand) at the point it broke the plain?

It's not 100% conclusive and that's what it takes to overturn. Yes I am a homer here and fully understand the Penn St argument. If the ruling on the field had been a TD, it's unlikely to be overturned by the replay officials as well.

That's how I see it. I am certainly not an expert, but from what I saw, there was no irrefutable video evidence either way. If the original call had been a TD, I believe that call would have stood on review. We got lucky the call happened to go our way. Guess that's just the human factor, rearing it's ugly head once again.

I can sympathize with PSU fans over a call like this, we sure'v had our fair share of them. It could have gone either way, if it had then we'd be the ones talking about how we got jobbed. It's still pretty far short of being a conspiracy as McLovin eluded to.
