Nice, we got that one back!
Horribly officiated game. Pens didn't draw one powerplay opportunity in sixty-five minutes of play.
Oh, and this:

Worthy of two minutes for kneeing one would think.
If the refs were trying to create a playoff like atmosphere with letting most everything go, I'd say mission accomplished.
Also, something just occurred to me. Boychuk's a defenseman. The only (hockey) reason for him to have been down that low in the offensive zone would have been on a pinch to keep the puck in, but the puck was on the other side of the ice. He was way out of his normal position. So the only other conclusion I can reach is that he was intentionally trying to remove Malkin from the play away from the puck. He made it really obvious. And that makes it even worse for the refs to have missed it.
Scuderi and Despres have been fantastic working together. The only reason I can think of putting in Bortuzzo would be for his fighting ability and that didn't exactly work out either. Right now they have one too many D men and if you ask me, Bortuzzo is the odd man out. Trade him for a bag of pucks and a stick rack.I've liked Johnston overall so far, but scratching Despres in favor of Bortuzzo against a really fast team doesn't make a lot of sense. Every time he and Scuderi have been on the ice together, the Islanders have generated. A lot.
