Nylander Has been very uncooperative in demanding an amount of money that really makes no sense for his type of production. Maybe someday he grows into that type of player but he is far from it currently. He has already proven to be a problem for his team, What happens when 8 million is below his market value? Does he not show up again even though hes under contract

Nylander has certainly put himself in a corner. Toronto too, as they have limited trade partners for a guy demanding an inflated salary too early in career. Dec. 1st is the deadline for him sign, correct? What happens in next season if Nylander chooses to sit out all of '18-'19? Leafs still have got to own his rights?

I chatted with a Toronto friend on my beer-league team last night (one of those real polite Canadian type folks). But he sure made it sound like Nylander is way too much of a headache. Apparently Nylander's papa is involved, who himself held-out for more $$$ back in the day. I am changing my tune and going against acquiring him (unless for some reason it turns out to be a low price both in terms of team assets and cap space). Agree that he should be Toronto, Carolina, or someone else's issue and not the Kings.

I'm all for letting the team struggle, miss the playoffs by a lot, and hope for a miracle with a lottery win (or least top-5 pick). But Blake should absolutely being pursuing additional trades to make them better. Whether that is mid-season, trade deadline, or Draft.

I am pretty much on board with all of this. We tried what we could, and it's really like forcing a square peg into a round hole. The team looked fun against Anaheim, and then came out with 3 straight real stinkers on home ice. After that Muzzin goal against Minnesota (What a nice goal by the way), Kings went 5 periods without a goal, and then followed it up with a smacking at the hands of a Nylander and Matthews-less Leafs team. I think our goaltending has always been so good, that it was masking a lot issues. Budaj wasn't bailing them out last game, so this is just the team right now.

I am not saying to blow it all up, because that's too extreme. But ideally, this team gets a legit pick (I mean, could it be possible to actually get the top pick, or a top pick?). I think that would breathe some life into all this by itself. But Kings need to be looking at probably 2-3 years down the road, where Kopitar and Doughty can still be a part of this, but probably not too many others. So I would still move some guys for more picks for sure. Do what Boston did and trade some guys, but keep the big guns as they retool.
