I am a Shanahan guy. Holmgren is older and hasn't coached in a long time. Washington was just not a good fit. In Denver did a great job until he was given GM responsibilities and made poor choices.

Holmgren has been good in all stops as HC. Shanahan seemed completely out of touch while coaching for Washington and his consistent backing of his inept son as OC coupled with his public feud with Snyder leads me to believe that he's Harbaugh v2.0 if HC of SF.

Shanahan probably had too much control in Washington and if he came here wouldn't want his son as OC because of family and objectivity. Holmgren is turning 68 and has been out of coaching quite awhile. Not sure how much he has left in him.

I'm not too upset about that especially with a player like Jaylon Smith potentially falling due to his knee injury but would have plenty of ammo to move up to get him.
