1st and foremost if you were under a rock and didn't watch the scrimmage, here is the link to the injury , I feel bad for George, forget about the NBA for a second, an injury like that is going to take time to recover from just as a man. He is going to have to lean to lean on friends/family for help.

in regards to his team, the Pacers are probably done for this season, maybe for 2 years as they try to recover from this. Don't claim to follow the East as closely as the Dubs, but the Pacers, Bulls, CLE, MIA, were probably going to run away with that division, now the Pacers are hurting badly.

I don't particular like Cuban, but his thoughts on Team USA using pro's are well chronicled, I would agree with his thoughts. No reason why NBA teams should let their stars participate in these exhibitions.

What if that was Steph, Klay, D.Lee, HB, D.Green, Bogut injured out there? Our season would be done.

Thoughts go out George

First of all prayers go out to PG and his family. Brutal injury.

I'm not quite understanding your logic here, though. If you're not gonna play the stars because of fearing for injury, then why play anyone? Is it okay for a guy like, say, Draymond Green to be put in that situation but not a guy like Stephen Curry?

George suffered the same injury as Joe Theismann did a number of years ago. Complete and compound fracture of the tibia and fibula with potential nerve irritation. He went through surgery to insert pins and stabilize both bones. His rehabilitation will be extensive. The prognosis is optimistic and George may be able to walk again but I am not sure about playing and neither are the doctors.
In all likelihood he'll miss this upcoming season. This is not good for Indiana.

Kevin Durant has just pulled out of Team USA also.

I'd venture to say that the next time around for the worlds, you may see college kids playing. Official Olympics I think the stars will still show out.

Agree with all of this except: Miami? Are you kidding? Um, no. And even with George healthy, Indiana was a distant 3rd next season to Cleveland and the Bulls. The East finals will be Bulls vs Cleveland barring catastrophic injury, just like it was obvious last year would be Indy vs Miami.

And I don't see how the West won't be OKC vs SA again.

MIA will still be in the mix because of how weak the East is. Deng, Bosh, Aging Wade, is still better than half the teams in the East.

CLE with Bron, Love, Uncle Drew will be expected to win, but they better find a bench for Bron, otherwise, he's going to get worn out before the ASG.

Very Possible. It could be the like the 2004 Dream Team filled with a mixmatched bunch who don't cut the mustard.

There will also be a learning curve and a feeling out process to start the season. Love has never had another star player, let alone 2 other stars. Same goes for Kyrie. Will they learn to defer or share the workload? I think the Cavs will really resemble the first year Heat team. I think Lebron will help immensely with the transition as he's done it before, but there will be work needed to be done for them to become a cohesive unit.

Well sure Miami may be a 3rd or 4th seed but the East finals are not in doubt (to me).

Cleveland may not win it though just as Miami didn't in James' first year there. Bulls probably more cohesive.

Also, they already have Mike Miller on the bench, and Varejao, and Thompson, and Waiters, and may get Ray Allen. They're going to be in the East finals.
