More than $2b in charitable efforts. He is undoubtedly A great man and will be missed by manySaved the Seahawks for Seattle, but owning the team was a very small part of his life and legacy. A great owner for sure, but he was much more passionate about other charitable efforts he was involved in and even was a lot more interested in the NBA sports-wise. He did a lot of great things for many people aside from his impact on Hawks fans. He'll be missed and admired forever.
Where did you read that from? According to this article it states that his sister does not wish to own either the Seahawks or Trail Blazers. Interesting times. It's reported that his sister is a major Seahawks fan. I suspect the franchise will stay in the Allen family for years to come.
Listening to PC talk about Allen's passing this morning on his weekly spot with B&S got me thinking. Could this be the event that convinces him to move on from Seattle? This morning he talked at length about how it was Allen that was the main reason he decided to leave USC to come back to the NFL and how he bought into the vision that Allen was trying to build here. With a different owner, could some of that go away or change enough to make Pete think it's time call it good here and try one more gig -- maybe college again -- before he's done for good? I hope not, but I could see it.
