If Kuechly doesn't clear Gronk out, that's a touchdown. So, probably a heads up play to interfere with him, but then you do it knowing that you're giving them first and goal on the 1 (which is of course much better than giving up the touchdown there).

Looks like Kuechly had him held well before the ball got there. He was prob told not to get beat by Gronk, and that was what he was doing. Time to move on I guess.
