Pats Change Their Mind About John Drew, Sign DL Anthony Rashad White Instead

Patriots reversed course on John Drew Monday, deciding to take a pass on the defensive tackle after the two sides had come to an agreement. Instead, on Monday evening, they announced they had signed rookie defensive lineman Anthony Rashad White.


I wonder if they even knew why Drew left Duke when they agreed to a deal....they had a deal and then backed out of it.

It really looks like they didn't do their homework and then backed out when they found out about the shooting. BB's being pretty stupid if that's true.

No.. being stupid would be sign the clown anyway.. if there was a gap somewhere and the real story didnt come out till later in the process.. they were going to sign him they didnt they moved on.. end of story

There's a snafu there, but I'd hardly call it "stupid". They made a mistake and corrected it. It happens.

The kid hired an agent that put a certian spin on the incident, the contract was put together pending further investigation. Nothing stupid about it.
