The Philadelphia Eagles are trading defensive back Eric Rowe to the New England Patriots in exchange for offensive lineman Josh Kline and a draft pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss.

Kline may not be in Philadelphia for long, sources told Schefter, as the Eagles are already in discussions to trade him to another team.

Rowe was selected in the second round of the 2015 draft, which was overseen by former coach Chip Kelly. He started five games as a rookie and finished with 31 tackles, one interception and five passes defensed.

Draft pick is 4th round 2018. Rowe must be pretty good.

I'm still concerned about the lack of depth at RB. Foster, Lewis and Sankey are all basically third down backs and Blount is the only true power back. BB may still make more changes between now and this weekend.

This is how it has been for years. I'm over it. BB isn't going back to a good running game. It sucks.

Actually Kline is not longer part of the deal. Curious if Philly could not trade him, so they said forget about.

I like Rowe, I was all over him when he came out last yr. He was actually picked before NE took Richards. I am willing to bet Rowe was the guy for NE, until the Eagles got him.
Brady threw at him like 14 times last yr and only 4 completions were made and he has a few pass breakups. Not sure where he plays for this team now. I would think a little ST, CB, S. He is the insurance plan for who every walks, Ryan or Harmon. I expect him to play a Browner role vs bigger WR with maybe a little help. Going to be interesting....

Sankey is more than a 3rd down back. He was not taken in the 2nd rd because he was a 3rd down back. If he can show something in practice, it would not shock me to see him up sooner than later. I am actually excited to see what he can do. He was a beast in college...

Patriots waived OG Josh Kline.

Kline was expected to head to Philadelphia in a trade for CB Eric Rowe on Tuesday, but he was pulled from the deal. It's possible there were some concerns over his physical after playing through a serious shoulder injury last season. Kline started 13 games in 2015 and should garner another look

Philly had a potential deal in place and Kline was a piece of that deal. It fell apart and Philly basically told the Pats that they didn't need him. The Patriots pulled him back.

The Eagles are getting rid of all of Chip Kelly's draft picks and acquisitions.

Between Philly and Cleveland going crazy getting rid of top draft picks of the last couple of years this is setting up to be a crazy year to see if those players were just in terrible environments or not. Really good test to see if where you play makes a huge difference on the career of a player. I am one that does think there are certain players that in a different situation would have been stars in this league but unfortunately went to terrible organizations.

So looks like the deal is a 4th round pick that turns into a 3rd round pick if Rowe plays at least 50% of the snaps either this season or next season for the Patriots.

Or becomes a starter.

Fair price I think.

Definitely any player that gives you quality snaps is worth a 3rd round pick. And really with his contract being very cost controlled this is an aggressive trade but one that is easily worth making.
