On that list you quoted, Hightower and Butler are the critical ones. I'd rank Amendola as almost more important than the rest.

And I simply do not see Bill B letting Butler go. Has to keep him.

I honestly have to put Harmon as 3rd. He is so good in his role with this team and can step in when Chung is no longer here. If Harmon leaves we have DMC, Chung, Ebner, Richards. Would have to look for someone else.

I'd like to hope that Hightower will give the Patriots a chance to make a counter offer but usually the player is gone.

When you already have two Superbowl rings cashing in for the big payday is not a bad move.

So he's from Tennessee. And has built a house there.

But he knows he will have Super Bowl opportunities in NE. Winning 2 just gives guys a taste for more...

I think he takes slightly less than offered and stays, no matter what.

Check the Pats Board.

I reported this morning that the NFL Network was reporting that the Titans have made Hightower a 5 year deal for salaries ranging between $10M and $13m. The total was believed to be around $58M with $22M guaranteed. Immediately following was a statement that the Patriots will match it.

And now the Titans are signing Cyprien. Wonder if they'll have enough money left for Hightower

Hightower has left the Jets and is now rumored to be going to Pitsburgh to talk. Apparently the market for ILBs, even really good ones like Hightower is only so high.. It bothers me he's going to Pittsburgh since I doubt they are serious. It only shows he's peeved at the Patriots. Still it's likely the Pats offer is competitive (but no more)

I would be too. Steelers aren't likely suitors. They weren't willing to pay Timmons 10-12mil per so why would they want to sign Hightower?

I think he knows the running rules. He knows the Pats will want to talk after he gets an offer.

But what should piss him off is the low interest in players at his position. Cause the Pats aren't going to give a nickel over his best offer.
