Do we know who the Pats are? I certainly have concerns. It's not the Pats fault. They didn't pick the shit that is our schedule.

The Pats have played one good team that has a very good QB. Pats lost that game at home against the Seahawks. The Steelers don't make the cut due to Ben not playing. Broncos too, with their QB situation.

This D is ranked #1 in points allowed. KC won't be easy. They are great in all three phases of the game.

The Pats is playing far better in the second half of the season while playing the same garbage as the first half. The sacks and creating turn overs is up a lot. Will that translate to far better QB's?

If the Pats make the SB...How will they fair against a great QB with a explosive offense? Packers and Falcons. Dallas isn't explosive. They control the clock. That oline is crazy.

Saturday night is another crappy QB. The Pats won't know what they are made of unless they play two more games.

Most concerned with the Chiefs and Steelers or whatever is left of them after their game.
That one looks to be a bloodbath

As far as the AFC is concerned, let's look at each team:

Houston Texans........Have the #1 Defense in the NFL. Have one of the worst QBs in the NFL and a less than mediocre offense. They have a horrible time scoring, even against horrible defenses.

Steelers..................Have a top notch offense. Can run and pass and get yards in big chunks. The only time the offense has problems is when a defense can force Ben out of the pocket. He does not throw well on the run and that's when most of picks are thrown. The defense is barely good. They can stop a poor a offense but have a difficult time with a better than average one. Very good QBs give this defense fits.

Kansas City.............Well balanced in all three phases of the game. Good defense that can rush the passer and cover the WRs. Complex offenses give them trouble. They tend to try to stick to man to man and disturb pass routes. Underneath stuff gives them fits and id a weakness. Offense has good WRs and RBs. Weakness is Alex Smith. He tends to get rattled if he gets hit a few times and releases early.

Of the three, Pittsburgh is probably the biggest threat to the Patriots. Several reasons......they got smucked by the Pats once this year without Big Ben. They'd like to prove that was a fluke. Patriots always have a tough time with Antonio Brown. Levon Bell averages 100+ total yards a game. They generally start a game in a pumped up adrenelin rush and begin a game a high speed.

Belichick knows the Steelers and usually has a game plan to counter several critical aspect. Defense: Stop the run first. If you keep Bell at 1-2 yards per carry, you force Ben to throw. Ben likes to throw medium to deep. If he throws short, it's generally 3 and out. Offense: Brady has to take three steps and immediately release 5-7 yards. Pittsburgh will give up 2-3 after the catch. Do it 2-3 times and the LBs will stay back 7-8 off the line and field starts to open for the running game. Otherwise, Blount straight into the guard/center holes and wear down the DL.

Just as long as it's a blizzard at 20 degrees and a 45 MPH gale.

My only concern is health. If I knew the Pats wouldn't suffer any major injuries, I'd bet them at current odds to win it all for sure.

Hope it's not tomorrow where we could literally start Garappolo and win.

Pro Football Focus says the Patriots secondary is the third-best in the NFL

The whole NFL has been up and down all year, esp in the AFC. I am not sure anyone knows what all 4 of these teams left can do. NE has stepped up and beat the teams they had too. We won't really know until the SB if they make it.

Let's not overlook the Texans at all her folks. They do have the #1 defense and if they can get pressure on Brady this could be a long night. Also, the Pats seem to play better in earlier games than night games (like tonight). So we will see. Right now I certainly wouldn't want to have to face the Steelers

Most prognosticators seem to believe it will be a Steeler/ Patriot AFC title game.
Guess we will see at the close of the weekend.

Good luck Cali. Not disrespect but I'd rather face Pit in the AFCCG. I feel NE matches up better. Pit has a scary offense. But KC is so well balanced and get turn overs. After the abortion of turn overs by NE tonight that makes me a bit nervous.

I think everything's working out well this season.

Pats were lucky to get their clunker game out of the way against the crappiest team left.

They'll play sharper next game. You can bank that like a Handicappers tip. That means I'll let you know next Monday.

Agreed. It's good to have a win that feels like a loss to amp them up some for next week.

Um, when was it a long night? Cripes it was a 38 to 16 rout.
The line gave Brady time to throw but the pressure was definitely on. Mercilus and Clowney invoked Strahan last night.

The 2 top defense's slaughtered the QBR for both QB's
Patriots held a playoff team to team defense scoring season average - despite the turnovers.
Texans took away the dink and dunk and forced Brady downfield.
Patriots receivers did not perform well in the midrange pass.
Edelman was almost non-existent in the 1st half game plan.
Aside from Hogan and Edelman, we had no receivers
White had a great play but only used once.
Malcom Floyd looked like he was out of sinc.
Bennett was busy blocking
Dion was amazing. His 2 fumbles were because he should not continue fighting when he is in the grasp of 5 players - inexperience on returning kicks.
We need Malcom Mitchell back
Danny was a decoy only. Must not have been ready.
We waited too long (4th quarter) before using mis-direction plays - they were immediately effective.

Last year w got bounced from the AFCCG because our offense was limited by predictability caused by lack of receivers. If we don't get the other receivers on target, we will have trouble.

I have no problem with the Patriots going into the AFCC game with a chip on their shoulder..

Deion Lewis looked great. Bennett dodged a bullet. I bet even Hogan will be ready.

They were indeed lucky to play the Texans 1st round. They just need to put it together for one game. Most definitely doable.

And then do it again for the Superbowl.

So the Pats had to dominate from the opening snap or the Texans would be making it a long night for the Pats.

38-16

stfu

Houston played as well as anyone could expect and got throttled.

Funny, before this game I was talking to a buddy who's a Steeler fan and i predicted 33 - 13 Pats. I said the game was gonna appear a lot closer than the final score. That's the way the Pats have played all year. Whoever they play next week I expect it to be ugly but with the Pats prevailing just like they've done all year.

This Pats team is the most patient one in recent memory. They don't get their feathers ruffled very easily.
