I don't care what round they get him, just as long as the Patriots draft.................

Anthony Wales RB Western Kentucky

Watched him yesterday run for more than 200 yards and 4 TDs against Louisiana Tech in the USA C Championship Game. Fast and powerful.

Mike Lombardi was talking about Garoppolo being traded to the Browns. The Browns have a ton of picks. Lombardi was on Speak For Yourself talking about this yesterday. Pats could end up with a lot of picks.

As big of a Brady fan as I am, I think keeping Brady and trading Garoppolo is a team mistake. Brady doesn't have much more time. I don't care how he eats or takes care of himself. The body gets old and doesn't heal as quick. Aging sucks. When it comes to watching the best players of their sports. Gretzky, Jordan, Montana, Elway....etc

There is no way they trade Brady. So he either retires or NE keeps him IMO. I can't see them franchising or paying to keep Jimmy G along with Brady. Can't wrap that much $ up in 2 QBs. Trade Jimmy G while his stock is high. Get some picks for this upcoming draft which is stronger than it's been in years. Who knows maybe you find a Brady, Wilson or Jimmy G in the mid to late rounds. Not sure I would put all my eggs in the Brissett basket but prior to his thumb injury he did alright. It was also kind of nice seeing a mobile QB in a NE uniform.
Ride and enjoy this wave as long as we can.

Not sure I agree that this upcoming draft is stronger than in years past. I have actually found it very much lacking. There are some positions like Corner, TE, and RB that look very deep but beyond that not impressed. This might be the worst OL draft I have ever seen.

Still there are some big names early on in the draft so if you can convince the Browns to part with some high picks then hard to turn that down unless you really think Jimmy G is top-5 caliber. I'm sure the Patriots will sell him that way and I'm sure some team will bite if the Patriots really want to pull the trigger.

A friend's son is a high school freshman this year. He's 6'4" 275 and plays left tackle. Every private school from Northern NH to CT visited with him and his parents last summer. He chose to go St. John's in MA. He started with the varsity and finished the year All-State.

Alabama, USC, Florida and about 20 other colleges are already in contact and some have already offered full scholarships.

Quality offensive linemen are becoming more rare than top quality quarterbacks.

Agreed with a strong RB and TE class but This is a strong defensive draft in both a 3-4 and a 4-3 scheme. Good pass rushers. Heavy in DE and DB two areas NE could use.
OL and QB look weak.

I'm starting to hear rumblings again about a possible off season Garappalo trade. Rumors of a trade with Cleveland but Chicago as well. Which is good it could drive the price up. Also Brissett was added to the 53 man roster.
What is anyone else hearing?
Would you trade JG? If so what would you ask for him?
Do you feel good with Jacoby as the back up and possible future?

Not sure I want to trade him. Jimmy has to know that at sometime TB12's time is up. Then again maybe he wants to start, but does he want to start in Clev? IDK...I would hold onto him for another yr, see how JB progresses and then go from there. They can tag Jimmy, then trade him. It sucks, you know Jimmy G is the future of this team, but to bad he has a 40 yr old QB in front of him playing better than any QB in the league...Gotta hold out for a 1st or at least and early 2nd and 3rd...other than that, no thanks....call me next yr.

No way NE tags him and keeps him and TB. It would be way too much $ wrapped up in two QBs.
I think with more than just one team bidding you could get an early 2nd and a 4th from a Cleveland.
If TB really has 3+ years remaining that gives NE time to find another starting QB if JB isn't the answer. It sure was fun watching a mobile QB. What a difference.

Not tag and keep. Jimmy has 1 yr left I believe. Tag him and then trade him.

I trust Brissett - with practice. Finish out the year before doing anything.
2nd and 3rd round picks are not enough. Might not even "stick"
High 2nd on draft day? Got a future left tackle on the board? Monster defensive lineman?
Better have something really exciting for Jimmy trade.....
Value is getting higher with all the young QB's looking good this year.....

Nothing will happen during the season.
All draft picks are a gamble, even #1 don't always pan out.
I think a high 2 and a 3rd is a good deal.
Not many Olinemen in the draft. But it is good for Dline.
NE will have to make a decision soon. Jimmy's coming up on a contract. They'll have to do something with him. I like the tag and trade idea that someone proposed earlier.

The only issue with the tag and trade idea is the team is taking a huge chance that somebody will actually trade for him. Depending on the tag it will be a 1st and 3rd or 1st and 1st to get him. Then you add in the big contract on top of that it makes it very difficult for teams to want to do that for such an unproven player. Teams have done plenty of stupid things so I'm sure somebody would bite but I think you get more in a trade if you do it this off season rather than the tag and trade idea.

I'm thinking if it gets to a tag and trade it would more than likely be with Cleveland. They have a past and Mike Lombardi as the negotitor that could make it less risky? Regardless NE has a decision to make soon. It's a good problem to have.

Oh it is. Teams would kill to have a HOF QB still playing at the level that Brady is with a possibly good/great QB sitting behind him just waiting for his opportunity. IF the Pats feel like Brady will play another 3-4 years if not more then definitely worth trading him at this point to continue to build up the roster around Brady. Keeps them in a great cap situation and allows them to be aggressive in the draft to get who they want and continue to draft QB's and see if they can develop one.

If they like Jimmy G to the be the future then it can be a smooth transition from Brady to Jimmy G to keep the team winning.

Everything rides on what TB12s plan is? If he's staying more than a year they have to deal Jimmy G. They can't afford both. Jacoby Brisett was a nice surprise. What a difference having a mobile QB is. So I say trade JG while his stock is high, assuming Brady plays 2 more years. Develop Brisett and see if you can find another TB in the draft?
