Patrick White, the Sharks and The Canucks new compensation

Signs point to Sharks choosing not to retain Patrick White, instead will recieve compensation - Fear The Fin

Sharks did not resign Patrick White so the Canucks will give up a 2nd round pick in the 2012 entry draft.

I would think that clause would have expired by the end of the 1st or at least 2nd year after that trade not the 3rd. still worth it to Get Ehrhoff for that time

i remember Pierre McQuirre going ballistic after every team passed on Espo up to that point. lol. man that was a bad draft. some great top players but overall weak

Pat White doesnt have the stomach to climb a ladder so this was a no brainer

The Canucks don't actually give up a pick for this. The comp pick is awarded by the league. Basically there will be 31 second round picks in next years draft.
