Looks like we're bringing in him for a workout. Do you think they envision a role like the one Kaep had earlier last year when Alex was starting...a role where he comes in for some of the more risky runs in order to preserve Kaep's health. Do you think they see him as a legit project or someone that could use a position change? Or maybe they're looking to get really creative and deploy some crazy sets where there are 2 running QBs on the field at the same time!haha

Pat White would only make sense if he could pass well enough? he'd have to be at least NFL average for us to pick him up.

obviously, Kap is rare in that he is a good passer and happens to run well. so the athleticism and running supplements his passing. if he couldn't pass, or wasn't as good a passer, he wouldn't be effective. wasn't that one of the big issues with Vince Young?

we want Kap to keep doing what he's doing in the passing game.

yep, Kap getting hurt is a huge concern, more so because we're built for now.

this is the main reason don't see us using the read option THAT much? if the opponent or point in a game warrants it, then do it. they do have to run it just enough to keep the threat live and real.

but don't see it as part of our 'base' offense.?

I wouldn't be upset if he were the 3rd string QB because the 3rd string QB is meaningless (which is why I think the Niners should only have 2 QBs on the roster). But he's still a terrible QB.

This would be fine if he included this theory in a much larger, more expansive write-up on White as a QB. It just looks incomplete and somewhat bad otherwise considering how common, everyday, run of the mill fans look at things sometimes.
