He had one pass over 40 yards, the next longest was 20 something.

My point, the Pats passing offense was much like the Redskins. Brady is getting the ball out in 2.1 seconds because A) he can B) his line is beat up.

Kirk did his job. 1 pick of a bouncy ball by Garcon, 1 sack, and 8 drops...... If he had any help what so ever from his WRs and defense, we might have at least been in that game.

Yep mostly I was pointing out that NE also is throwing a lot of under routes (short WCO style.) Not everyone in the NFL is playing bombs away. Folks have given Gruden and Cousins a hard time for this style offense and although I am not against a deep pass I was pointing out the best QB in the NFL is doing the same thing. At least in our game with them.

It's not just the Pate, it's the vast majority of the league going to short throws. And it's boring as Hell even if it's effective. But the point you are trying, and failing to make in my opinion, is Brady throws a lot of short passes but not at the level of the Redskins offense.

The short pass has replaced many running plays throughout the League. You can't really judge the Redskins offense in terms of % of short pass attempts as their primary deep threat (DJ) has not been available. However, I do think they need to open it up a bit if for no other reason that to keep defenses honest. Hopefully with DJ back, we will see more deep attempts. Not only to him, but with the defenses focused on him more, also to players like Crowder and Reed.

No doubt about it. That was one of the few encouraging things about that game. Cousins did his part especially when you consider that they had no running game (again) and his receivers didn't do him any favors. Hopefully - they all pull it together on offense against the Saints. They will need it if the defense plays poorly again.

One encouraging note - the Redskins are certainly Jeckyll & Hyde in terms of home and road games. They were within a few plays of being 4-0 thus far at home. On the road they are 0-4 & only one of those games was remotely close. That makes Sunday's game somewhat encouraging.

Not so sure I failed at explaining as I was creating dialogue. Either way, you guys picked up what I was saying. Some feel we are not going down field enough. That's not a wrong opinion, but at the same time as you all just pointed out most teams are going to the short pass primarily. So the talk of taking the reins off of Cousins might not quite be the way to look at things since Brady and the Pats are playing the same way and doing it very well. Yes better than the Redskins, I was never trying to convey that Cousins is on the same level as Brady or the Redskins are on the same level as the Pats. We have a ways to go to get there.
