...bceomes even more interesting when you consider this little fact. Maybe not apples to apples, but still.

It's not even close to being apples to apples. This has nothing to do with whether I think Pweeg should be in the all star game or not, but to compare a RP innings to a SP is ridiculous, to compare them to an everyday player is beyond ridiculous.
Papelbon is heavily involved in every inning that he pitches though. In the majority of Puig's innings he doesn't come to bat and doesn't field a ball or make an out. Buster is an idiot.

Olney isn't usually this stupid is he ?
I like Olney. He caught hell for that tweet and got defensive about it. I'm sure he'd like to take it back.
Yeah it was pretty silly for reasons already posted. I'm not a big NL fan so I looked up his numbers. He's had a nice month but 4 walks(24 Ks) ?? The guy is clearly up there hacking and it's working out for him so far. Let's see how he does the 2nd & 3rd time around when the pitchers have a book on him. That said, it's just the all star game and if the fans want to see him what's the harm.

Unless his contact skill is really this good (I don't buy it), he's set up for a massive regression. His BABIP is completely unsustainable. And without drawing walks to keep his OBP up in the case of a batted ball slump, his numbers will drop rapidly when that regression happens.
Bingo!
To be fair...if you are hitting over .400. Would you have any motivation to evolve or change your approach at the plate?
To him at least, it's Fixing something that isn't broken.. We shall see, maybe he actually does 'evolve" himself when he falls into a bit of a slump.
All I know is...he has More Hits than Harper in 70 less Plate Appearances...
He has Similar Contact Skills and Plate Discipline to Adam Jones really. He makes it work mainly because of his Talent alone, Puig, from the looks of it...is even more Talented than him...
