Not often you see honesty like that. I've got to give the B's respect for being upfront about the hit.

Also, 3 fights in the first four seconds? Boston going after Ott and Burish? The B's might be my new favorite team out East.

I'm sure being the Bruins, the Cooke/Savard hit is still fresh in their minds. Pretty hypocritical to blast a guy publicly for something and then defend it a year later. The Cooke hit was much much worse than the one Paille laid on Sawada, but still...

That comes from a year ago when Ott blindsided Campbell (when he was in Florida). Unfortunately, Campbell got his ass beat, so the other B's had to take momentum right back.

It’s a hit they’re trying to get rid of. I mean you hear it from every player after they do it, they feel bad, and same thing, I talked to Danny and he feels bad. It’s tough, that backchecking forward, to make those kind of hits, it’s so hard to do it in a clean fashion, with the new rules. It is what it is. He hurt the guy, and I’m sure he’ll have a conversation.”

To be honest, I don't think the hit was THAT bad, but the league has decided that hits like that won't be tolerated. As for the elbow, I think when you hit with your shoulder and push off, that's just a normal reaction. I hope the suspension isn't too long as there have been plenty worse hits this year, and some like it that weren't even penalized. Look at the Crosby hit for example.
