By definition, there was no champion last year. That's according to the PAC 12. The automatic bid, which is normally awarded for the tournament winner, was given to Oregon. It didn't matter because shortly after the NCAAT was cancelled.

What else does Washington State have to hang onto? They are the only team in the PAC 12 who has never played in the PAC 12 Tournament Championship. So they are trying to create a fake co-champ title for a year where they came in 11th place in the PAC and the tournament got cancelled.
