Interesting read:

The article makes some interesting and valid points...but the predictions I've seen on the possibility of a PAC team in the playoff have said Oregon.

I've been saying USC has the best roster/upside for weeks and should be the Pac 12 favorite provided they keep Slovis upright.

I am hearing from the sounds of it, UW’s game might be in jeopardy and no one on UW’s side is talking. Cal has made precautions but pretty sure Cal isn’t going to meet the agreed criteria to actually play.

lol

No tailgating. But I'll be up by 4:30 or 5 and it'll be cathead biscuits and gravy and Bloody Mary's.
I'm looking forward to catching some of that game between my Horns and WV tomorrow. Saw that the Pac12 has already canceled two games, just enjoy and appreciate these games, you never know if the next will even happen.

That's part of the reason I'm not sure I'll sleep much. I'll be constantly checking to make sure the game hasn't been cancelled. lol

But yeah, I'm hoping for the best...but I'm going to enjoy every game as much as possible because, as you say, no way of knowing if the next one will happen.

I feel like this first game will just be a smorgasbord of bad tackling.

Put look at the positive, if a result came back positive after the game wouldn’t you have to cancel the 3 games? Or is it 2.
According to reports, had the same outbreak happened with any other team in the Pac, that team would still be playing today. The rules for how to deal with these isn't the same for every city/state.

No, it wouldn't have had any impact on future games unless players actually came up positive themselves. Simply being on the field with someone else positive wouldn't disqualify them.

Welp, we're 1-0. We don't deserve to be 1-0. But somehow, we are.

Guess I am not 100% on the rules nor realized they aren’t uniformed which seems really dumb IMO.

The Pac12 has no say in local pandemic guidelines. There is a generic set of rules for the conference in terms of testing frequency and whatnot, but how positives are handled is largely a matter of local rules. I guess it has to do with what contact tracing looks like and when those in some level of contact are quarantined. Cal's was pretty harsh and excluded a large enough number of players just because of proximity to the positive player that they could not qualify to field enough scholarship players.

According to local radio, all 11 other schools would not have had to exclude as many kids and would have still qualified to play.

Remember, this was just ONE player found positive.

My understanding is most would isolate roommates, but not necessarily teammates that were in the same unit unless they spent more than x amount of time directly with them without masks. Cal went a step farther and took out their whole unit.
