Did you know, the Miami-UW 2000 game in Seattle, UW actually had more criminals for UW than the U? Fun fact. And Jerremy Stevens had more police interactions than any Miami player in their history. Another fun fact.

You'd really enjoy the book Scoreboard, Baby. I still love UW, but the shit I read in this book made me sick to my stomach.

Na, I just listened to a podcast and they ran over the list of crimes. I was really shocked to realize your Rose Bowl team had more criminals than the U’s first good team since half the team ended up in prison.

Time to sign Helton up to another extension.
If you weren't blind, you could this coming.

1)Stability now with the AD and him very quickly telling the LA sports media and boosters to STFU and Helton would be the coach for this season.

2) New coaching changes finished and the bigtime addition of getting Donte Williams whose one of the best recruiters in the NCAA.

3) USC will be taking a maxed out class this year after what occured in 2019. They will be loading up. 24+ commits for sure.

The team to watch the most out of this will be the Ducks. No team benefited more from USC's malaise the past couple years when it came to recruiting. Sure the Huskies and teams like ASU also were able to recruit easier out of SoCal, but the Ducks made out like bandits on this. But I'm going to call that about done. The whole Cali-Flock thing? Stick a fork in that one, cause get used to a whole different situation.

I'm expecting the Ducks to try to use the Moorehead and that new WR coach to land some east coast talent to try to fill the void, but trying to get east coast / SEC & ACC territory 4 and 5 stars to go spend 3-4 years in Eugene is still a challenge. Even all that Nike money will not be able to pull some of them over.

So keep an eye on this as the year goes on. Will be interesting to see what obvious impact you'll see to the other PAC teams with USC going to the mattresses with recruiting this year to keep a wall up on the best of the Cali prospects.

It's not about being blind, USC is really benefiting from this lock down. Think a majority of kids will be sticking closer to home this cycle.
This coming season is going to be really important for Clay, because let's be honest, this is going to be his best roster before heading to the 21 and 22 seasons.

Good Points. Moms everywhere are gonna think twice about Jr going to school for four years way far from home for a while after this mess. That can only help the USC, Bama, Texas and Florida teams where theres talent not too far away. And for USC they really need this class and to have a good season so is easier to recruit the 2022 class
I think Oregons gltiz has been slowly going away. Lots of teams have cool Unis they use a couple times a year and with Chips coaching tree uprooted the fast pace offense has been replaced with a guy who likes defense and to run the ball. I don't think they will fall off as much as A&M did when Manzel left but they are in danger of been a Disco station when New wave and garage rock is starting to come on the scene.

Last seasons recruiting class was a disaster fo sho. But the majority of the teams starters last season were freshmen and sophomores. Which means if they pull in a good class this time around it could minimize that. Even Pete had a few recruiting classes that were pretty much failures with a bunch of kids transferring, getting kicked out or just not living up to their billing. But the classes before and after masked them. One class failure can be overcome. Usually it takes a few seasons to watch it happen and realize you got nothing out of that class but here we saw it happen in real time. You will just have to deal with a very young team in about two seasons. They got the QB position right and that helps a lot.
Right now with only ten commits USC has either seven four star kids or one five star and six four star kids. Last season they only got two and Oregon who had its greatest class ever and tops in the pack had ten four star kids. So right now with having less than half of the kids they will sign they only are about three four stars (and one five) away from Oregons last class. This should be the top PAC class this season and might place USC back in contention for a top ten class nationally.

. OMG - Here we go again. Did you copy and paste this from 2016??? This was the narrative of so many threads 4 years ago. Yet Oregon wins the conference, Rose Bowl and a top 5 ranked season. They are preseason favorites to win the PAC again and ranked in top 5 in multiple polls, even with replacing their QB. Loads of young 4 star recruits with a sprinkle of 5s. Oregon’s cupboard is full to compete for the PAC title for at least the next three years. Only thing that would derail that is if coach Cristobal left.

You are further and further from the Chip Kelly days of glitz and glamour which got you many good players. Here we go again? What have you accomplished since 2016 other than winning the PAC last season which had no other team to challenge because how bad USC Washington and Stanford were? You were the tallest midget. You managed to end up ranked 5th or 6th in the country with a four year first round draft pick at QB. Until this past season Oregon had finished every season since 2016 unranked and USC was the only team to finish ranked in the top 3 since 2016 behind a first round QB (see how important that position is). I don't see any PAC team being a playoff team this season but Oregon is moving to a power run and defense type team at a time where offense is winning and the only really great defenses are in the SEC because we just dont put out that many great defensive players out here. It's just my opinion of course but if you guys had to rely on Herbert running in for TDs to win that Rose Bowl then your offense is going to be on training wheels this season with new QB and new OC and with a coach that isn't about offense. You have recruited well the past two seasons but none of those players are transcendent offensive players which Oregon football has had and was their appeal to the new younger kids a few years ago. Your best player is an O lineman and an outside LB. Great to have but if we want to beat Ohio State teams that aint enough.

Just my opinion OK. lol. Not trying to antagonize.

Only because you got 26 (2019) commits rather than 22 (2020).
2019- 1 Five star ,11 four star
2020 - 3 five star 7 four star.

Most people would rather have two more 5* players than four more 4* players and two less 5*. 2020 was a better class. Having more 3 star players does little to nothing in the better class argument.

These kids didn't accept offers to Washington only to have the QB room crowded with a transfer. Let's see what UW's QB recruits can do, not USC's leftovers.

I will say that when it comes to J.T. Daniels, I'd rather pass (no pun intended). It's hard to say if he'd be much of an upgrade over the guys currently in the QB room. Additionally I think it's a bad long-term move to rely on transfers. It hurts recruiting and what happens when you can't recruit a HS QB and there are no attractive transfers available?

All that being said I do wish we had a QB on the roster with some experience. Hindsight being 20/20, I think Jacob Eason transferring to UW hurt more than it helped. Had he not transferred to UW and "won the starting job" we'd have a QB going into 2020 with experience in Haener. I also can't imagine that Haener would've been much worse than Eason with the possibility of actually being better.

I would agree. JT isn't (as it turned out) this great 5* that he was billed to be and certainly not good enough to jack up your QB room for. Unless your coaches are certain he's better than what you have. He's not a 5th year transfer so he's not a one year and done guy so you can get three more seasons out of him.

Oregon will have to rely on the power run game so if O line (other than the one stud they have) is a weakness they are going to have issues scoring. Look at the Rose Bowl game. With a veteran talented first round draft pick at QB they still had to rely on him running the ball in to score.

This is the only reason I could justify pursuing him. It's also just hard to root for a guy who decided to come here because he wasn't good enough for the school he initially committed to.
