One person makes a ballot:
NORTH
1 Oregon
2 Cal
3 UW
4 WSU
5 Stanford
6 Oregon State
SOUTH
1 USC
2 ASU... etc

Someone else makes one with UW tops in north and oregon second, but still has USC first in the south.

Of those two ballots USC would be the overall conference favorite when no one asked if any media would take either oregon or UW over USC in a final.

It's entirely jaded to putting up a pick on a weaker division at least perceptually.

AG, he's only picking this because he know the media will pick them heavily from the north because UW has a new coach, if for no other reason, while USC, ASU, and Utah will each have some votes (a lot of the media are flat out retarded).

The reason he won't accept any other type of poll or pick is ones that attempt to figure out who they like head to head in a championship game, or will finish higher ranked don't favor his narrative this year. They attempt to figure out who is most liked overall, not just from a division. They are less valid to him. :L

Did they, or did they not vote entirely on who they liked from both divisions?

You posted the above, but failed to post the rest didn't you? Why is that sport?

They don't pick who they like overall. They simply put up a ballot with how both divisions will finish and whoever got the most first place votes IN THE DAMNED DIVISION is picked the overall winner. They do NOT vote on that question alone.

They could have liked either Oregon or UW over Utah if asked, but that's not what they are turning in. It would be the same as turning in a ballot for how you think the NFC and AFC will finish and simply declaring the SB winner was picked by which team had the most votes.

They absolutely vote separately on the conference champ. Did you even read the article?

You're a moron. Read the article with the explicit vote for a conference champ.

You can't have UW, Oregon, AND Utah in a head to head vote. They aren't picking a div winner and then picking the champ. Their voting worked well before we had divisions. Since then they have been horrible because the format sucks. And it will suck no matter how that broken vote plays out this year or next.

That is exactly what they are doing. There are 2 separate votes.

Voting for division winner:
SOUTH
Utah (33)
USC(2)

NORTH
Oregon (17)
Washington (17)
Washington St (1)

Voting for P12 Champion:
Utah (12)
Oregon (11)
Washington (9)
USC (2)
Washington St (1)

Notice how the vote numbers for Utah, Oregon, and Washington are different?

Just admit you were wrong, and move along.

It's a straw poll you twit. It's not what I'm saying at all. And it doesn't work. look at their accuracy at predicting before we had divisions, and since. Share with the class how many times they have been right in the last 12 polls.

The fact is because it's a straw poll 2/3 of the media picked a team from the north. If they did it after their ballots and went head to head on the winner of each it would be a direct vote for conf champ. A straw poll is not the same thing.

You won't accept that it's a bad way to pick the conf favorite despite the fact it is seldom correct now. The straw poll worked well when there weren't divisions. It's dumb with them. Several of them have pointed that out. They need to have a separate vote for champion after they pick the divisions. Their accuracy would improve.

You're the imbecile that claimed that they don't even vote on who the PAC12 champ will be, even when it's been obviously disproven. Your comments in bold below continue to make you look clueless.

Yet you are giddy about whatever AG just posted and, correct me if I'm wrong, but it wasn't the results of the next Pac12 media day poll.

And while we're at it, the Pac 12 media poll doesn't 'pick' a conf winner as it is. They declare one when no actual voter votes on that question.
It's a sham and you know it. In fact that's the ONLY reason you now want to change to hold onto that. They only ask for winners of each division and then the conference says whoever had the most votes, again just votes on each division not overall winner, is declared the conference favorite. You know full well there isn't one actual vote on who would beat who in the CCG. All they actually vote on is who they like from each division.

Yet that is somehow more legit than the actual national polls. :L

Yes, I was wrong in how I stated it.

Not surprised in the least you failed to address the point.

Or maybe we should stop having primaries and caucuses. Just have a straw poll for president right? It's the same thing isn't it?

The first time you ever man up and admit fault I'll be sure to pat you on the back. It hasn't ever happened so I don't expect it.

Still not going to actually answer the point though right? That too is normal for you.

They list on their page a pretty high success rate of picking a conference champ and then say they have only gotten 4 of the last 12. Their format doesn't work. Straw poll is not the same as picking the winners of the division and then voting on the conference champ.

I wonder if you went back and looked at the highest preseason ranked team in the AP since we formed divisions how accurate they were compared to the Pac12 failed straw poll. They can't have been worse it would seem.

Perhaps the first time I make a mistake you can call me out on it...you may be waiting a long time.

Just took a quick look.

Looks like the AP was 8-4 over the past 12 years.

Oh the irony from someone so quick to call out others and yet isn't capable of standing up and admitting fault when called out. You've been called out several times. You choose 100% of the time to ignore it and continue trolling. Your whole purpose to be on this site circles around following AG around and trolling UW fans in general. Your obsession is glaring.

And again in true form still haven't/ won't speak to the point raised on the Pac12 media sham pick. You always duck things when your argument is shot down.

So if the AP were to like USC more this coming year it's at least no worse than the P12 media if not twice as good. Thanks.

And no, I'm not predicting they will. That's AGs thing. Have to get to at least fall camp to get a feel for where the teams may be at.

Just because you believe it to be a sham pick doesn't negate the fact that it is the only poll that has been produced in this thread that showed who was picked to win the conference.

Most of my posts in the CFB forum are not about UW, contrary to whatever your pea-sized brain thinks...

lol

Shit, I don't think I'm going to be ready to predict USC's season until after the season. I have no fucking clue what to expect.

The passing game should be good. Outside of that...:noidea:

You deny basically following AG around this board? Most of the time I ignore you because you don't provide anything of value

The big one is waiting to see the order of games and location of byes in the schedule. The league can't screw USC yet again with a bye on rivalry week can they? :noidea:

AG posts all over the place, like UCFHonors. I don't target his posts, but I will mock anyone who posts something dumb...by extension, he gets a disproportionate amount of replies.
