As to how to fix the PAC, here are some ideas.

1. Sign a real TV deal. The PAC Network is trash, and hard to get outside of the West Coast. I live in Atlanta and only a few providers have it. It's absurd and losing money.

2. Fire the Commish

3. And as bad as it sounds, USC and UCLA are going to have to improve. USC is the largest team in the conference, and when they suck, the conference takes a dive. The SEC are fortunate so that when a power house crumbles, another one rises. ASU should be an annual Top 25 team, USC and UW should be in the hunt annually, UCLA and Oregon should be in the 10-15 each year. I didn't mentioned Stanford as I don't think they are the problem and really need to keep doing exactly what they are.

I like this much better than Dennis Dodd’s chicken little theory from a couple years ago. He had the whole conference crumbling and Utah, Colorado, Zona and ASU going to the big12.
UW, Oregon, Cal and UCLA going to the B1G
SC and Stanford taking the Notre Dame route of Independent.
And WSU and OSU going to the Mtn West.

It’s not that bad is it?

Is someone thinks the BigXI is more secure than the PAC12, than that's a clear sign they need their head checked.

BigXI is ran horribly, just imagine if the PAC allowed USC to have their own TV network nationally? Their would be a damn mutiny.

Week 2 College Football Playoff Picture: Four in, two out and four to watch

Washington (1-0)
Oregon lost, so now it's on Washington to carry the Pac-12 banner after a 47-14 victory against Eastern Washington. Jacob Eason impressed with 349 passing yards and four TDs in his first start, and this might be the most-physically gifted arm talent Chris Petersen has ever coached. Washington trusts its system, and that will keep the team here for a while. The Huskies begin Pac-12 play Saturday against Cal.
but when UW lost the same game last year but with more time to try and comeback they were still the favorite. ok. Oregon lost a game. they didnt die

yet the pac 12 still agreed to have the 4 California schools play each other every year while everyone else in the N gets flip flopped and misses one

That's a commish issue. Get a new commish, and that'll be corrected.

On the flip side of that the rest of the PAC schools are promised at least one game in the state of California for recruiting purposes.

At least one game in California? You have four teams in the state of California, it should not be a bargaining chip to have one game in California that should be a given.

It was embarrassing to have UW win the conference after losing to a 3-5 SEC team. If Oregon repeats it will be just as embarrassing.

I believe the rule was for at least 1 game in Southern California every other year. Thus you have OSU, UW, WSU, and UO on the two year rotation with UCLA and USC.

Pac does have an image problem and Scott sure isn't helping, but the problem is a collapse at the top of both major sports. No one is seriously contending in either.

We don't need USC or UCLA, shame on whoever suggested that. :tsk:

Any team such as Utah even that got to the show and won a playoff game would be enough to change the narrative.

That isn't enough though. It's not just about the lack of any complete team, it's about how the middle of the conference is below the other 4 P5's. Need to stop losing to G5 teams and doing better against P5 teams in bowls and OOC.

That is if you care about national perception. how important is that? Slightly and really only for a playoff contender looking to get in with one loss. For everyone else it really doesn't matter outside of recruiting maybe.

We have a bunch of flawed teams. Ducks and their road issues, Utah and UW with issues on offense, UW and their recent massive issues on special teams, USC and their inability to cash in on top tier talent, WSU and their inability to play against bigger and faster defenses, and then everyone else with even more issues.

Someone needs to solve the puzzle.

This year's schedule is kind of brutal for several of those top level teams.

Just feels like yet another year for the Pac to be left out. Not seeing anyone that looks ready to run the table and the conf is bad enough to exclude a one loss team.

We will have this same conversation about the national view next year. Yet again.

I have a feeling if USC beats Stanford on Saturday then they will both end up unranked the next ranking. lol.
