Developed him? Dude was a terrible passer in college. He was a great dual threat guy but let’s no pretend his deep balls were anything but dying, pun intended, ducks. Titans may not have done a good job but let’s not pretend Mariota wasn’t another Tennessee falls in love with a Heisman Trophy winner so drafts him.

Mariota's downfield accuracy graded as well as any other QB in the draft that year.

Please, he tore up a league that was historically down in a system that could only work in college.

Titans don't have a great track record with QB draft picks. They might want to move on from the Pac.

Or maybe they just have bad QB development. Honestly the OL has been so terrible for Mariota it's a wonder he hasn't had even more injuries.

Your argument would also hold more water if he struggled more against OOC opponents...he only had 1 loss, and he didn't play terrible even in that game.

He was a good college QB. There are loads of good college QB's that didn't master pro football. HUNH spread crap doesn't work at the NFL level. Chip proved that before he bombed out and left back for college (where he's failing yet again). Pac isn't anywhere near as weak as it was when he brought that here, and it's still a garbage league. He won't win the south with his style. Won't take long until they get tired of him and send him packing for an OC gig somewhere or off to TV. Mariota is a good kid, but he's not NFL material.

HUNH worked pretty well for Peyton Manning. It can work in the NFL.

PAC was much worse the last few years than during Mariotas tenure. Last year was the worst the league has ever been.

How many ranked teams outside of Oregon and Stanford were there in the North during his entire run? Over those 3 years Stanford finished ranked once and the beavs once (lolz).

You can try to pick one actual worst season, but there are quite a few to pick from. The conference hasn't been solid since well before Mariota and you know it. Particularly the North during that time. Stanford was the only halfway decent team during his run. The rest were hot garbage. That's a hell of an advantage.

Doesn’t mean he was good at throwing a deep ball. His system had the defense bite then one of his track star receivers would wait an hour for the ball to fall in his lap. I’m not knocking him because he was a great college QB but Harrington was ten times the passer Mariota was.

Peyton ran a no huddle offense because he was the OC, in zero way did he run a hurry up offense though.

Again, Mariota also did very well in his OOC games, so its not as if he stunk it up outside the PAC12.

Harrington was more prone to turnovers.

WHAT? He often yelled at the refs because they were taking too long to spot the ball.

More turnovers doesn’t make one a better passer. Again I’m not saying Mariota was a bad QB he didn’t make NFL type throws in college so you can’t blame his lack of success in the NFL on the Titans.

I guess he may have yelled at the ref to stop the ball but it was 15-20 seconds after the ball was spotted before he took the snap. You can’t have a statue run HUNH system, hence why you guys bombed in little Leaf and whoever the other white dude was until Dixon showed up.

Now you're just clueless. Oregon wasn't running the HUNH until Dixon's final year.
