Yeah, it's too bad too because he would really help you guys a lot.

I've said all along that if I were a head coach of a major program and needed an OC...Lane Kiffin and Sark would be among my first phone calls.

Both were train wrecks as head coaches, but damn good OC's.
I'd take Kiffin in a heartbeat.

Really ANYONE that has experience running a power 5 offense and understands how to make in game adjustments. Is that really asking too much? :noidea:

Sark would be awesome. But no chance it would happen. You don't get hired back at a place you were fired from, and who would take that anyway? And with a demotion at that?

I know it never would've happened for all of the obvious reasons, but it would've been a hire I liked.

Another impossible scenario I would've loved would have been Jeff Tedford being promoted to offensive coordinator.

Always fun to play with hypotheticals though.

If the offense performs well enough and Helton still got fired, I would expect that Harrell would probably become the HC.

Of course, if the offense performs well enough, it probably saves Helton's job.

I think that would be a risky decision. You know more about USC than I do, but these are my thoughts:

I'm biased because I grew up with USC being a really dominant program and I've always liked that school, but they could have their pick of just about any decent head coaching candidate looking for a job. Handing the reigns over to Graham Harrell I think would be selling yourself short.

I'm probably wrong, but I could definitely see Urban Meyer getting the itch to coach again and USC persuading him to come out of retirement. Wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

Just please don't take Jimmy Lake from us.

But they proved to be good coordinators or assistants. Not the head guy material but good in the backup role. Kind of like Wade Phillips.
That doesn't change the fact that both Kiffin and Sark a pair of slimeball cvnts.

So are a decent portion of assistants. Recruiting is a sleezey business and most really only have a job because they can recruit, not coach.
