On the negative side Stanford's best cover corner Holder is out for the season. I am thinking we may see Costello start against WSU at QB as well, just a "feeling".

holder out is going to be a big issue going down the stretch. i expect to see costello is the team isn't moving, but i'll be very surprised to see him start. hope your 'feeling' is correct though

Maybe they pull it together and make a bowl game, but that defense is a sieve. The only reason I don't say absolutely no, they play better at home, and Rosen should be back for the SC game if not sooner.

As for Mora, I'm afraid he could lose out and we would be stuck with him at least one more year. Too much time left on that contract.

Yeah, apparently that's where being a public school (or at least a UC school) works against them. I used to wonder why UCLA held on to coaches who weren't working out as long as they did. Then I read an article that explained it.

I don't remember exactly why but I remember it had to do with them being a UC school and it limits how much they can pay a coach and also how much they can pay in buyouts, etc.

I remember thinking that it puts them in a bit of a catch 22. They are limited as to the coaches they can hire because of what the job pays and they are limited as to how quickly they can get rid of him if he's not getting the job done.
