ok, I was off by an hour. So sue me?

Lee was just on and the first thing Softy asked him was about that line and why it dropped so far. He said nothing about wanting it more or any of that. He said sometimes they guess the line wrong to open and that's what happened here.

He predicted the game and said UW had that game last year circled and this year the ducks have nothing to lose and have it circled. He said he thinks they will bring new looks on defense and maybe a few trick plays on offense. He still likes the dawgs to win, but ducks to cover. He has it 35-24 UW.

So his tweet was a bit odd?

You can hear his segment yourself, but they don't generally update Softy's podcast until after the show is over sometime after 6pm. Check out hour one around 3:45 or so for the start of it.

He basically touched on what he tweeted with what he said there, just said it in a less stupid way. Even still, in a rivalry game one year removed from a 12 year streak, claiming one team has the game circled on their calendar and that's why they'll cover is pretty weak. Like he just wants something to say about it, but also doesn't want to put any thought into it. Should have just went with the obvious, "yeah, oregon is getting their QB back, new coach will have them prepared, they cover this one."

Not a valid analogy because in this case they want to charge a USC player with felony assault for knocking a douche nozzle fan on the ground but won't even charge one of their own players that severely damages the face of someone at a party.

The story isn't about the cougs having rogue actors. Football players are dipshits. It's about a police system that is sending very mixed messages.

Also, Strigfellow was kicked off the team after he was charged with assault for the incident, Miles was not charged, but still suspended for a game for being a part of it. I think we can safely assume he had a much smaller roll in whatever they were doing considering he wasn't charged. Stringfellow would have been more valuable than Cyler fucking Miles, I doubt Petersen was risking his reputation to keep that "star" QB on the team... That was the same year he told Peters to take a hike for not gelling with the new staff for fucks sake. The Stevens thing was just terribly handled at all levels, what a PoS that dude was/is.

You can get pulled over with pot smoke rolling out of the car window and not go to jail if you play football and have the star QB for your team in the back. You can knock skulls in off campus in bar fights and kick the face in so bad a kid needs surgery.

The big x-factor is how much more impact the mounting injuries have near the end of the season. Things can change in a hurry down the stretch.

FPI gives them a 65% chance against Colorado and 77% against the beavs. Multiply those out and it's a 50/50 chance of winning both. And we all know weird things happen in rivalry games so throw the FPI out the window in those.

Reports from people covering the ducks today are they are practicing Herbert, but he's likely to end up coming back against zona after the bye. He will be fresh and presumably the ducks will have had this week, and the next two to install plays zona hasn't seen.

I don't see the ducks slowing down Tate nearly enough, but I could see them scoring quite a few cheap TD's with plays they aren't ready for and if Herbert stays upright I'd be taking the over on that game for sure.
