Its a good fit for a variety of reasons. Braves are built to win now, 1 year contract so they aren't married to him, hit .429 against the Braves in the playoffs last year so maybe he is good at that park.

I'm not convinced he is a good player, though. I don't think the Braves need him to be a star so I can see it working out for them

I think it's a good one-year deal. Ozuna should be better than their other non-Acuna outfielders. His last two seasons have been solid if kinda meh (at least in comparison to his 2017 season), but his statcast numbers suggest the potential for more.

Ozuna has been a different guy every year for the past 3 seasons. A great star in 2017, a guy who just hit lots of singles in 2018, and then a guy who tried really hard to be a key part of a fairly mediocre lineup in 2019.

I think a stats geek would think its worth kicking the tires just because there is volatility there. The guy who hit a bunch of singles making a return in 2020 might actually be pretty good on the Braves because they should be able to get guys on base.
