isnt this a little over board since all KC has done when it counts is lose football games and throw picks ?

i like the guy but geez get a grip . he has a lot to prove in the regular season , not against guys who will pumping gas in 6 months or against vanilla , scripted defenses with guys more concerned about not getting hurt then making a play

just because 3 is on the bench (as he should be ) doesnt mean we should predicting tds etc

how about we start with simply winning football games and cutting down turnovers or better yet overcoming them ?

Dean, KC is not the next coming of Joe Montana. Hell, he may not even be starting by the end of the year. He has some serious flaws in his game also. We need to just sit back and see if he can develop. Blaze is right, the better bet is the o/u on INTs. That is what will determine wins or losses.

Keep in mind that guys like Brees, Manning, and Luck have had 20Int years. If the guy has over 25Td this year, he should be a keeper. For example if KC has 26Td's 20 INts's and 4000 yards passing do you just get rid of him? NO!!!!

I agree you might not get rid of him, but you also don't have him as your only plan for the future. You draft a young guy and start grooming him.

Yep & it is not just a matter of how many INTs - it is also exactly how those INTs occur. Cousins has a tendency to throw picks at the absolute worst times (e.g. pick six near the end of a close game). He also has yet to prove that he can come through in close games (save for the handful of plays he made in limited time in relief vs Ravens).

Possibly he can overcome a lot of this (will be tough), but jy is correct that a backup plan is in order unless he has stellar stats (including minimal turnovers).

Bottom line - over time - he will be judged (fair or not) on wins and losses. Given that this team needs time (& nobody expects a lot of wins this season) for this season he should be judged on whether he is one of the primary reasons for any losses. If not & he contributes towards any wins that will be a major plus for him.

25 TD passes would tie him for 5th all time with Sammy Baugh. Sonny twice and Theismann and Rypien once each exceeded 25 passes. 20 INTs would tie him for 7th all time. Norm Snead accomplished that 3 times and interestingly was the 2nd overall pick in 1961. Schroeder, Baugh, Grossman and Theismann did it one time.

It's doable. He was on pace to throw exactly that number last year. He was also on pace to throw 22 -23 picks. Both would put him in the upper echelon of Redskins stats. That was the point of my last post. Not that he couldn't do it but in 80+ years it has only been done by a Redskin QB 5 times. That includes 2 HOF QBs. I understand the game has changed which is why it is doable.

Yep. This also kind of shows how poor the Redskins have been at this position over the recent past & how little consistency there has been in this position recently. In the recent era these numbers should be easy to obtain (especially when two players have had double this amt in one season). However - it is not so easy when you quite often don't have a QB who plays all 16 games and don't have the QB or surrounding players who can lead a consistent passing game throughout the season.

Let's hope someone steps up in this area in the next few years - maybe even Cousins.
