FCS Predictions

And now it's time for the "extras" portion of this thread, where we take a break and look at other stuff. First, here are the teams from the FCS that you should pay attention to:

North Dakota: The Fighting Hawks went 8-0 in the Big Sky last year, and returns their starting QB to make another run. This will be the last time they can do it, though, as North Dakota will join their in-state rivals in the Missouri Valley next season.

Grambling State: Broderick Fobbs has restored the luster to this legendary program in the South, and he has QB DeVante Kincade and RB Martez Carter coming back. I'm predicting that Grambling returns to the "Celebration Bowl" and wins it again.

Youngstown State: Bo Pelini had to be LOVING the fact that his Penguins made the FCS finals last year, and he'll be part of a epic fight to win the Missouri Valley. (On a completely unrelated note, the Penguins host North Dakota State on October 14th.)

James Madison: It was the Dukes that halted NDSU's dynasty, and most of that team is back. And with Villanova getting a new head coach and Richmond losing theirs (Danny Rocco left the Spiders to go to Delaware), expect James Madison to repeat as CAA champions at the VERY least.

Sam Houston State: My pick to win the national title. I mean, it's hard to argue with P.J. Hall on their defense and QB Jeremiah Briscoe (last year's Walton Payton Award winner) leading the offense.

Coming up, it'll be Heisman predictions!

Heisman predictions

As usual, it'll be hard to predict who'll win the Heisman trophy. We have a LOT of candidates... even some from the Big 12! So here's my shortlist of people who'll go for this prestigious award:

Florida State QB Deondre Francois- He did well as a redshirt freshmen, and now he's ready to make a BIG run at all of the major awards.

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson- Just know that if Louisville makes it to a "New Year's Six" bowl this year, we'll all know who's to blame.

Penn State RB Saquon Barkley- Another reason why Keenan Michael-Key is excited about his beloved Nittany Lions this season: Saquon Barkley is ready to deliver a CFP berth for his team.

USC QB Sam Darnold- Nice performance in the Rose Bowl, Mr. Darnold. But in order to get the Heisman (and most importantly, get USC into the playoff), you'll have to play a full 12 games this season.

USF QB Quinton Flowers- The "Group of 5"'s big Heisman hope is Mr. Quinton, with his flashy numbers and USF having a great chance to crash the "New Year's Six".

Alabama WR Calvin Ridley- Since Alabama always seems to have a Heisman candidate every year, I'll go with the 'Bama player that has the best shot. And Calvin Ridley has already put up better receiving numbers than all of the best Alabama WR's, so he's my guy.

...And I'm done with this thread! If you're interested, I'll be starting up a thread about the Big 10 tomorrow. Until then, this thread's all yours...

He has a fair shot at being the OU OC if things go the way we think they are gonna go at Tech this year iyam. Pretty good fit and he is prob a better OC than HC.

Oh HELL NO! Riley found out last year, that the Air Raid won't win big games. I think after the Houston game, Mixon and Perinne, threaten to beat the shit out of him, if they didn't get the ball more. He gave it to them, a little more against tOSU and OU didn't start to dominate, until we ran the ball 60% of the time.

At the Big XII Media Days, every reporter told us that Kingsbury didn't seem into it at all. Looked tired and not enthused to be there at all. Come off like a guy who was beat down and ready to move on with his life.

He's worn out, duh.

You do know that Riley isn't the first Air Raid coach to discover rushing yards don't you? I mean, you would think you would remember Johnny Manziel and company running up and down the field in a certain bowl game a few years back. Guess who was the OC?

It's pretty fucking hard to listen to you guys right now spinning this Riley isn't an Air Raid coach shit on here day in and day out. He's never been anything else his entire fucking career...

I think air raid OU offenses beat Texas 63-14 and 65-13 if I remember correctly.

Go watch the blocking schemes on the run plays. They're not air raid sissy zone blocking schemes. They're power run blocking schemes with road graders. Riley knows how to use the power run game. Now stfu about it already. It's hard to listen to you spinning shit you clearly know nothing about.

Hmm, I see wide splits and two point stances? Is that power football to you meth heads? Don't argue with your mental superior.

Yes, every single play... :L. And yes you can still have a power run game from that alignment. Mental superior my ass. :L

Then it's the fucking Air Raid genius. They invented those wide splits and using their guards like tackles to block in space. It's what the entire offense is built around. I've never once said you can't run the fucking ball in the Air Raid.

We argued on another thread about me believing the Air Raid offense hurts the defense and that is why I don't care for it at a school that gets the level of talent that Oklahoma does.

You guys are the ones trying to call a spade a sparrow. Not me. It's like your ashamed of your damn offensive philosophy or something...

Nope. It's a power spread. Thanks for playing.

Try again, the above is what the power spread looks like. Notice fingers in the dirt, firing off the ball, etc.
