Not....soon...enough.

That's for sure. This is definitely one of those years where I'll be counting the weeks down extra closely. More than I usually would. I'm pretty excited for 2014, provided that the FO makes a few good moves with the defense.

However, it feels like it wasn't too long ago that training camp was getting underway for 2013. So, I think it will go by quickly. At least, that's what I tell myself in order to get by. lol

Good points guys, rich especially. Two of the three major category's are in shambles, but there are some good coaches in spots. Mostly on the O side. I hope you guys turn out to be right. Chances of me being wrong are as you guys know pretty small. But if anyone can pull off a upset its you guys. Go Bears.

Lovie was a better coach then Tresman. Tresman has the better GM. The offense is better because of better talent, something we did not do for Lovie. This whole staff is far worse then our old one. From the D coach to the STs coach we downgraded. I,m not even sure the O coaching is better, just more talent to work with. Sorry about the venting but it needs to be said.

I disagree Noon. Our O staff is light years ahead of what we previously had. Tice had BM & AJ last year.
Toub might be our 2nd biggest loss to Rod. But each chose their path. I would have loved to see both stay.

I have nightmares thinking what our O-line would like w/Tice in charge.
Change was needed. And hopefully it works out for the best.
The league is O driven now. You have to keep up.
I have concerns about our D. But that's second nature now.

I don't think Dave Toub or Rod Marinelli are missed as much as you would make it out to be. I think it is the age of the players as much as the coach. Dave Toub had a STrank of #1 in 2011 and #6 in 2012. Last year the Bears were #11. Mostly because of the punter and the 31 year old Devin Hester. I Think Toub seen the writing on the wall and high tailed it out of here. Rod didn't do any better with the D-line in Dallas either.

Noon did prognosticate well, the Bears did can two defensive coaches. The new LB coach is an old warhorse been around a long time, should bring back a solid group. Not sure on the other yet, have not heard if the Bears had grabbed another coach yet.

I no longer wish Tucker out of town.

The way Bears players talk about him has me sold. I think he has been on the wrong side of some bad personnel on the defensive side of the ball in both Jacksonville and his first year in Chicago.

Jay, Brandon, Tim Jennings, etc... all said the only way Tucker is leaving Chicago, is for a head coaching job. When Cutler gives praise like that to a coach, it's genuine. Cutler doesn't bull shit about that stuff. He's never been afraid to say he doesn't see eye to eye with coaching.

With a few good moves, I expect this defense to really improve in 2014. I am on board with giving Tucker a second chance now.

Podlesh leaving town will improve the special teams drastically, IMO.

I agree we have improved in one of the big three catagorys. But how much from coaching vs how much from improved talent is the big question. I think 70/30 with 70 being from improved talent.

Only the defense was in shambles last year. Offense and special teams were in the top half of the league.
