Our Bowl Opponent

Might as well start predicting shit.....

I'm going to put a % by the team and Bowl game that I believe we have a chance of seeing.....

UCLA - Rose Bowl: 33%
Oregon - Rose Bowl: 33%
Stanford - Rose Bowl: 20%
Florida - Outback Bowl: 10%
South Carolina - Outback Bowl: 4%


Now, let me explain......I know it seems confusing that I'd have UCLA and Oregon as a higher percentage chance than Stanford, but here is the way I see things.....

The opening line for the UCLA/Stanford game is -1.5 in favor of UCLA.......which is the way I see the game as well......a virtual coin toss.

If UCLA wins that game, I see them getting crushed by Oregon in the Pac 12 Championship. If Stanford wins the game, you'd have to think the chances of the Cardinal going to the Pac 12 Championship game 1 week later and beating that same UCLA team again would be less.

Thus, the way I see it, if UCLA wins this weekend, they've fucked themselves..........if they lose this weekend, they've given themselves a better chance.

As for the Outback Bowl, I am not sold on us beating Wisconsin yet.....plain and simple. If (God forbid) we lose to Iowa this weekend, we're a lock for the Outback probably.

I guess I see Oregon, the only team who doesn't control anything, as being the team with the best odds at this point of playing in the Rose Bowl then....

For once, we cannot afford to come out early and get behind......

We must play football in the first half against Wisconsin this time around if we want to win. The "comeback kids" thing jest isn't going to work in this situation.

If Wisconsin takes a 2-score (at least) lead into the half over us, we will not win the game this time around. We better be prepared.

But we just played there last year........so I'd assume there would be a higher likelihood that we'd see the Outback.
